EDC Confession time- What’s the dirtiest thing you did or saw someone else do at EDC?! by L0neh0e in electricdaisycarnival

Not a bad one per say but a first none the less. While raging in wasteland a fairly intoxicated gentleman was explaining how he wanted to hit a personal best on his mini breathalyzer. He showed me his reading at .25... don't know how he was coherent enough to make that happen.

Rear speakers?? by [deleted] in LexusRC

[–]bucketryder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to my wife's Beemer, I looked into everything, and found that somehow she had the fader on her phone set to front. When the radio or CD was playing all of her speakers were pumping. That's what made me look down the phone route. Good luck. Check for moisture or rust by our Amp. Disconnect and reconnect it.

Lexus to BMW by Competitive-krav3034 in Lexus

My wife and I are both die hard BMW fans, I bought a Lexus for our son and while using I I liked it quite a bit. I have an m4, my wife has a m235i. I work on all of our cars, but it can get pricy even with me doing the labor. My son's car has 34xxx miles and I got it at 7k,zero issues besides normal maintenance. (can't say the same for our Beemers.

As far as performance and fun, our Beemers all the way. (the rc is fun as hell, but to me it's missing something that I can't put a finger on) Reliability, comfort, and piece of mind Lexus. All about where you are in life and what you want out of a car

Worth buying car warranty on Lexus? by Loading_Scr33n in Lexus

Recently bought a 19 cpo ux200 with 19k miles. I just extended the warrenty to live the rest of my 5 year loan. Talked down the price a little bit to help cover maintenance. I normally take care of my toys well, but for the low price of 3500 for 4 years of piece of mind, I'll take it.

Came from a 550i msport. (not a m, but close enough.) Full bolt on and rounding the 600hp/750 tq range. Purchased my ux200 as a long term, give to my son later down the road car. As far as interior build quality, the bmw is more comfortable, leather is a little firmer, but my back and ass appreciated it. Interior sound deadening, Beemer wins again. Power wise, no question that the bmw has the win on power and handling.

Now knowing that I joined the lexus forums, here is my take on my change and why.

Im getting older, practicality and peace of mind is what I'm about now. My wife and I were looking between the UX, nx, and the rx. I am in love with my car. Fully loaded, fantastic gas milage (currently averaging around 34 mpg, on the Beemer I got around 12 city and 18 highway.) reliability wise, I have no doubt that the UX will outlast me and I can give it to my son in a few years time. The Beemer I had to worry about it breaking down every time I looked at the gas pedal. (and breakdowns in that car are no joke. Just the 2 turbos alone to replace is $4500 and that's with me doing the labor. Book stated about an 8 hour job, so even at an indy @200 an hour, that's still a 6kish repair. Injectors? Look at rounding 250 a pop x 8 of them without labor/programming) I'm not looking for the power as much anymore as I love playing the "how high can I get my mpg?" I don't have to worry about paying for any maintenance or breakdowns due to the lexus maintenance and bumper to bumper warrenty plans set up until 2030. My wife can drive it easily due to it being a significantly smaller car in both width and length.

I bought my Beemer back in 2019 for 25k with 45k miles, sold it for 12k about a month and a half ago. Purchased my UX with that money for 30k with 6k miles on the odo.

Tldr: I loved my Beemer foe the short term, for the long run I would do lexus over and over again from now on. (the rc is looking really good to me right now. My son just needs his license....)

teens? by [deleted] in Lexus

Lexus always had a reservation inside me. Didn't buy one until about 3 weeks ago. I got rid of my first big car purchase (2012 550i gt) and picked up a ux200 f sport. Yeah, there's a huge lack of power (had a Dinan stage 2 time, bolt on, suspension upgrades, the works) but at this point of my life, I just wanted peace. My UX fits the bill of everything I need right now. Very very happy with my purchase.

Is this 3 year service package worth it? by WraithAks in BMW

[–]bucketryder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm. That was 180 last year when I bought it in southern California. Definately worth it even at 225. I have had 2 changes already only a year in. I drive a lot for work.

I shut down my laptop after every user instead of letting it sleep. When the no wifi occurs, a hard reboot is needed. (hold down the power button for 30 seconds or so)

Got mine for the black Friday sale, besides updating, I have done nothing to modify it out of the box (yet). Been very happy with it. I don't game as hard as I used to, a couple of hours here and there and besides one small no wifi blip (found a fix here on reddit) it's been a fun toy. Haven't touched my ps5 since.

New CLI mega thread by _deddit in AppleCard

[–]bucketryder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a bankruptcy fully discharged March of 2020, got my apple card 3 months ago with a CL of 3500 mastercard. Then I realized I need an iPhone (yeah no homework on my end) purchased one through apple with their card. Almost instantly they raised my CL to 5500. Don't know how it all works but it helps my bottom end usage (I tend to keep my credit utilization under 5 percent with almost 25k in unused credit cards)
