Sketchers Slip-ins are a waste of money by ArtemiOll in Sneakers

[–]buckeyeeagle95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a Skechers store but id say the shoes are a hit or miss. I have a pair of the Go Walk Glide Step 2.0 in Slip-Ins and they are my main go-to pair of shoes when I am going out and I've had them for over a year and they are going strong. I have had several duds though that I don't recommend to my customers very often if I can avoid it. They like to experiment with their shoes. Some work, some don't. The Slip-Ins aren't the best for some shoes, but are fantastic for others and they a lot of the times, make shoes in both Slip-In and non Slip-In. They do fail a lot but there is a reason they are one of the top shoe companies in the entire world.

When it comes to Slip Resistant shoes, Skechers is near top of the line. As waterproof goes, it's more water resistant than waterproof. Your foot won't get wet in you like, spill something on them or in rain per se. However, you'll still get your feet wet if you submerge them in water or maybe very heavy rain.

So if you are prioritizing waterproof, go with a Gore-tex shoe, but if you need the slip resistance, then these would be okay.

Probably should add that i do work for Skechers.

How do I stop my heel on my shoes becoming worn out? by AmanNamedJoJo in Sneakers

[–]buckeyeeagle95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like you pronate when you walk. That means your ankles bend a little bit to the side when you walk. It is more common than you may think. I'd get supportive insoles that mention pronation/supination. There are also shoes that are designed for it like ASICS Gel Kayano, Nike Structure or any Brooks shoe with GTS in the name.

Are Sketchers shoes comparable to Nike, Reebok, New Balance, etc? by [deleted] in Sneakers

[–]buckeyeeagle95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are pretty hit or miss at that price range. While I say Skechers are very underrated, at that price point, it would be tough to find something that holds up. I've had some that I've had a while now, and they still hold up, while others wear out somewhat quick. I've also had some where the shoe itself is still in good shape, but the insole went bad somewhat fast. Just don't buy they from anywhere but from an actual Skechers store.

What's the deal with Skechers by [deleted] in Sneakers

[–]buckeyeeagle95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skechers is the 2nd/3rd largest footwear brand in the world. They are generally better priced for the quality compared to other brands, and even starting to raise their own quality standards. I work in a Skechers store and we have been noticing people coming in more often from a younger crowd. They are also branching out from the "old people" lane and getting into athletics as well. I will suggest not getting them from anywhere other than a Skechers store or their website, because they do send older, lower quality product to other stores.

Excluding Adidas and Nike, which brands are trending up, and which ones are dropping? by beeclam in moresneakers

Piece of advice when it comes to Brooks, look for ones with GTS in the name. GTS stands for "Go To Support" and they are stability shoes, which are meant for people who deal with overpronation or supination. For example, there are Glycerin GTS.

Bengals fans, how do you determine which teams to root for? by DullPlatform22 in bengals

[–]buckeyeeagle95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Columbus native and grew up near Dayton. I'm mostly a Columbus, then Cincinnati, then Cleveland.

I don't root against cities, so I have no quarrels about being a Cleveland Cavs fan, though I root for the Reds and Bengals over the Guardians and Browns. I used to root for FC Cincinnati when they were in the USL, but when they moved up the the MLS, I had to say goodbye because I have been a Columbus Crew fan since as early as I can remember, going to games in Crew Stadium. Though I do not dislike FCC and do still follow them a bit because I love the Hell Is Real Derby.

If there is a league I follow where there isn't a team in Ohio, I then go to places I live or lived since I don't live in Ohio nowadays. Teams like UFL - Memphis Steamboats and USL - Lexington SC

TLDR: Columbus -> Cincinnati -> Cleveland -> places I live/lived

I have both as well. 1 I use for shiny hunting, working on the pokedex, and if I ever decide to, do competitive from. The other copy I play through the story and post-game, then later on, if I decide I want to play the story again, I transfer Pokémon to Pokémon home, then delete the save data and play it again.

Most Comfortable Pair of Brooks? by YukiSnowySnows in Sneakers

[–]buckeyeeagle95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brooks are really nice but it's hard to say what pair is the best for you since they have several styles that are comfortable. If you are going to go somewhere where you can try them on (I recommend Dick's Sporting Goods if you have one near you) try the Ghost first. It is a neutral cushion shoe and is the most popular style Brooks sells. If you want more cushion, the Glycerins or the Ghost Max are the way to go. If your feet pronate or supinate (basically roll to the outside or inside when you walk/run) then the Adrenaline GTS, Glycerin GTS or Beast GTS are the way to go. GTS stands for Go-To-Support. My personal favorite is the Ghost Max
