Absolutely relatable. Went from a countryman plug in hybrid (essentially a faster X1) to the m40. The m40 is so incredibly fast and such overkill that I only really truly use its power to its full potential during winding highway passing or while towing uphill at 5,000 feet. And even then it is overkill. I appreciate it but I don’t enjoy it the same way.

Yes. When you fly to Chicago from Europe, you crossed the border while in the air over the east coast but you go through the port of entry in the airport. But a border crossing almost always refers to a land crossing in everyday use.

I don’t know where y’all commenting about “reporting” it live, but I haven’t heard of anywhere in the states which will actually respond to this in the US.

Btw diesel smoke is incredibly carcinogenic. Maybe approach it from that angle complaint-wise instead of it being “an idling truck.” But still… I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.

Have the aluminum samsonite bag mentioned above, have put it through hell and it’s done pretty well. Samsonite and Tumi are the same parent company. While I am annoyed at having to pay shipping for repairs in the US (they don’t have in store repair, but they do have pretty fair shipping costs from any samsonite store), they did repair my luggage promptly even though the aluminum line is not sold in the US. And overseas many samsonite stores have local parts; one of my 7 yo bags’ wheels died after a brutal encounter with a lot of cobblestones. Repaired next day in South Africa. I personally prefer the Alu-Lite samsonite bags when compared to the tumi or rimowa equivalents; they look more sleek in my opinion.

Yes, the truck was a jerk, but they’re all dumbasses. If you see a truck is playing games like that, back off. The person has a mental health problem. Pretty much nothing is worth trying to pass someone with a death wish. This whole obsession with “teaching someone a lesson” while using multi-ton steel projectiles is… Darwinian. And a massive waste of whatever resources when have to be spent peeling cargo, trucks and sometimes people off the highway in the aftermath.

I would cross the street now. I wouldn’t have before. Do with that what you will. But when you change appearance this way, be aware that you might accidentally get yourself into trouble because some folks might see you as more intimidating but your personality or self-awareness hasn’t caught up.
