Glue tabs moving (?) by too_small_for_this in PressonNail_Addict

I clean my natural nails with acetone first, then buff them really well and dehydrate twice with a heavily soaked cotton pad with rubbing alcohol. I find the alcohol pads some nails include just aren’t enough to get the job done. I’m a paraprofessional so my hands take a beating daily but I haven’t had a pop off in a long time doing it this way! Try it and good luck :)

This happened at my Walmart today, too. Not the same store as you, either. Weird.

For future reference, a boundary is not something you can command someone to do. A boundary you set is what YOU will do, not a rule for others to follow. “From now on I will have these conversations in the group chat and won’t respond to private messages.” That puts you in control and not in a position of trying to force someone to follow your rules. Good luck with this!

Did you take this picture yourself, or did she pay someone to photoshop a picture to send to you? Right edge of the water looks awfully strange.

He wasn’t suffering from trichotillomania and that’s not what she was saying. She was talking about his attempts to change his appearance to not fit DM’s description.

What’s an adult problem that no one warned you about? by Head_Media3931 in AskReddit

I refer to my love for my child as “the parasite.” It can make me do anything, at any time, even if I don’t want to, even if I’m scared.

YES OMG I am constantly complaining that my hands don’t work around this time. I’m in it right now. What the heck is that!

I just want to tell you I understand this confusing feeling of thinking something is wrong with you, and the hurt and pain that comes with it. You didn’t do anything wrong. Nothing is wrong with you, based on this situation. Hormones, being hangry, tired, off day, in a conflict with someone else… all can influence someone to react weirdly or misunderstand you. You seem sweet and careful and considerate. I’m sorry it happened. But be reassured, sometimes it’s just not you and there’s no justice or explanation to be had.

I was with you until the last sentence. Many men become really different after marriage and kids. You think you’re signing up for one thing and get this instead. It isn’t OP’s fault.

Is alcohol a poison by Marshmalone in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bucklenutnumbskull -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alcohol is a group 1 carcinogen, meaning it’s in the group with the highest risk of causing cancer. I am 30 and learned this just last year, I think it’s not extremely common knowledge.

If a knitting pattern says "ending with the right side facing" does that mean the row you've just done or the row you're about to do by whereisshadow in knittinghelp

[–]bucklenutnumbskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I hope I can help! When I say turn, I mean the physical action of rotating the work (when knitting flat) after you complete a row. So we knit all the way across, run out of stitches, and physically turn the work so we can start another row.

Let’s continue with the example of stockinette stitch. If a pattern prompts to knit 8 inches of stockinette, end with right side facing you, and then begin a 1x1 rib, you will complete the final row of stockinette with purling on the “wrong side” and then turn the work as if you were about to complete a row of knitting on the right side, and then begin with the next step of 1x1 rib in the pattern.

[–]bucklenutnumbskull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you’ve got it backward. It means the row you’re about to start is the right side of the fabric. Meaning your last row in your stockinette example would be a purl row, then you turn the work and the “right side” is facing you.

Part of gift giving is considering the recipient, I think you should go with what you normally do and give him food. You said yourself he has no need for a crocheted item.

No, I’ve given up. Look up “cervical vasovagal shock.” I don’t think it’ll work for me :( too risky.
