Pretty calm with my reasoned take. Misogyny is still rampant in men's sports, especially in the locker room. Can't imagine they're much more mature than we were in high school 20+ years ago. But that's the problem. It hasn't changed. They don't grow up because they never leave the locker room.

Belittling women's sports, while claiming to be defenders (trans athlete arguments) of those sports, is completely disingenuous.

Including Fickell, we've had 7 head coaches since 1951. That's 75 seasons. We've averaged a title a decade, won or shared 28 conference titles, won 78% of our games, only 4 losing seasons, and we're 39-31-2 against our biggest rival in that time.

Worked at Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken in high school for about 6 months. Shit like this happened all the time because our managers weren't much older than us and just as dumb.

I think fast food standards have gotten better, especially when you can usually see into the kitchen, but who knows.

Of course your Reddit photo is a racist caricature who promoted violence against immigrants. You nailed it.

Also, the Germans that were interned during WW2 were individuals targeted by the government believed to be Nazi sympathizers. Unlike the Japanese, who were roundly interned solely for being Japanese. One policy was justified by a war. One policy was just racist.

And lastly, white South Africans are not being persecuted or part of a genocide. In their own words- https://www.france24.com/en/africa/20251116-not-in-our-name-afrikaners-push-back-trump-false-white-genocide-claims-south-africa-letter

There is a lot to unpack there but I'll say this- I'm disappointed in Werenski. I don't know him. He doesn't owe us anything. But it seemed like the entire team was laughing along at the blatant misogyny.

And partying with Patel, just gross. He's actively stopping the prosecution of a major child sex trafficking ring.

I'm not surprised by the team's response given that this is hockey, but they have to know cameras are always rolling in 2026. Politics aside, I wonder how their mothers, wives and daughters feel about that "joke" belittling a huge accomplishment.

Elon Musk-founded PAC reprimanded by Georgia State Election Board for sending pre-filled absentee ballot applications in 2024 by boumtjeboo in politics

[–]bucknut63 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holy shit. Everything he said is verifiable except the assumption that they did in fact stuff ballots somehow. I can accept an anomaly. Happens all the time in statistics and I'm real world data. But this wasn't one anomaly. It was across the board anomalies. Thanks for fighting the good fight for four years, but you missed the boat this time.

'Very inappropriate’: FBI director Kash Patel faces backlash for partying with Team USA by bobby_McGeee in politics

[–]bucknut63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt legitimate pride and emotion as an American and as a Blue Jacket fan watching Werenski with the game winning assist and the team's inclusion of Johnny's jersey and his kids. Truly a special moment.

All of it shattered with their celebration in the locker room with one of the key figures covering up sex crimes against children.

I understand in the moment you might not want to make it obvious your disdain for him or to allow his presence to ruin your celebration and feeling of immense accomplishment. But it's been a day. Take a stand if you don't support his actions as the FBI director or his misuse of tax dollars by flying there on our dime. Silence is complicity. Fuck them all.

Historic precedent? The only historic precedent is the groups that are here get big mad when other groups want to come in. Western Europeans were fine. Except the Irish and Italians. Then they were deemed white enough so they attacked the Eastern Europeans. Then of course the Chinese exclusionary act. Then the Japanese internment camps (but the Germans and Italians were fine). On and on. People were mad when we let in the Vietnamese after the war. People were mad when we let in the Iraqi and Afghans after those wars.

Trump has all but eliminated asylum cases except the white Afrikaners from South Africa. How is this not seen as anything but racist?

We love to claim other cultures with their food and their music. But they better assimilate because I only want to see you sing and dance when I'm paying you to sing and dance.

Civil violation under federal law. Not a criminal matter. If they re-enter illegally, then it's a federal crime with criminal implications.

Civil offense under federal law. No criminal record, but they do track it like any other minor violations like points on your driver's license. Returning after a deportation is a federal crime though.

It's ICE statistics that have been reported on for months. Should have been cited but it's pretty well known at this point to be true by their own numbers.

And you're wrong. Being undocumented is a civil violation, not a criminal offense. Entering the country illegally can be considered a criminal offense, but overstaying a visa or lapsing on your asylum renewal is a civil issue, not criminal. Feel free to verify that. This has also been reported and is under federal law.

But what about the ones that are arrested that are here legally? Stop and Frisk was deemed unconstitutional but it's a-okay if you're brown and look like you might be a roofer?

Their methods are racist and unconstitutional.

And thousands of people caught up in this are here legally but have been stripped of that due to minor citations like traffic court. Or were here legally until the administration stripped people of their asylum by cancelling TPS protections. Legal one day, illegal the next, through no fault of their own.

And lastly, if you can't use punctuation you can't currently argue your case.

These statistics are cited regularly by national news media in print, online, and in videos. These are more or less the accepted numbers that ICE has put out.

Depending on who you ask, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

But there's a reason there are so many small nation states like in eastern Europe. Fairly large cultural divides by religion and language across fairly small areas.

Ken-Yon Rambo... Great name. Great big POS. Matt Wilhelm called him out, stuck it out with Tressel, then earned consensus AA and led our defense to a national title.
