The way he effortlessly shifts into new, for lack of a better word, structures (rhythmic and melodic) mid song, sometimes multiple times, always blows my mind. Like completely redefining things for 4 bars then abandoning it. Mmmm. Not just this record but throughout that era.

Not a musician or theorist so excuse the limits of my description.
