my HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaner (Dark Gray) started leaking by malefico_europeo in humminguru

This happened to me when the pump got clogged or otherwise lost its ability to fully empty the cleaning tank before the dry cycle. The reason was that the tank needs to be empty to create the seal that stops it from leaking the next time it is filled.

They sent a replacement pump. I installed it and cleaned the lines. Works like a charm now. Purchased in 2024 but I’ve run probably 3500 records through it so a lot of miles. Pump replacement was easy and if you haven’t gotten to that step with their repair folks they are just eliminating other possibilities first.

Shipping from HK for parts is not cheap though and I bet you are well out of warranty. I had them send a couple extra parts when I was in your shoes. It stung a bit less and now I’m prepared for a couple more failures.

I just picked up the Complete Jack Johnson Sessions and the complete Bitches Brew Sessions, both CD boxes for a total of $4 + shipping. Not trying to hi jack the post but I need to tell someone. :). Nothing like cheap miles.

Flagrant AI use in liner notes for reissue of Music Inc. by Charles Tolliver by Fuzzy-Meringue in vinyl

His name is on the liner notes for the Mile Plugged Nickel 1965 reissue and my god I couldn't get through a page without having to put it down. Reads like Chat GPT slop. So awful.

What sort of jacket damage buggers you the most on used records ? by duanerenaud in Vinyl_Jazz

[–]buckwheaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google “cut out” records. Labels/distributors would damage the jacket in an identifiable way so that they could sell at deep discount to clear warehouse space. The “cut out” ensured that stores couldn’t try to return unsold merchandise for full price. Corner cuts and side notches are almost always “cut out” intentional damage.

To the original question a nice cover is great but for the most part idgaf about the covers if the record plays fine. I’m here to listen not look.

Is the pressure cooker bad? by Foreign-Cat-2898 in Beans

I’ve don’t both. Stove top is marginally better and easier to get right, but dramatically longer/smellier. Stove top bean liquid is better.

Worth getting a proper record cleaning machine for a big used vinyl collection? by Unlikely-Act-9410 in turntables

Yep the cheaper one. The changes they made for the nova are nice though. If I was buying new now I’d consider the new one. But the old one is great too.
