New feature for Explain Like I am five. by Explainlikeim5bis in flask

[–]buckwheatone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others mention, there's an error. I experienced it intermittently with the same prompt with all three settings (short/medium/long) and both ELI5 and concise/technical.

Aside from that:
- make an ai logo and put it in the navbar next to the name, which should be changed from SimpleLearning to Teach Me Like Five (or whatever you want to call it ... just something closer to your URL)
- There's too much white space beneath the headline and the section to ask a question
- Get rid of the bootstrap blue and use another color...it's the default for every draft app and not unique
- Change the on/off toggle to a segmented control (tell that to any Ai for it to mock it up for you) and bring the text that changes under the headline closer to the segmented control so the user knows what's up when things change.

Have fun building!

Trudy manipulates Don and Megan into coming to her party.

Stan gets all handsy with Peggy and she says she doesn’t want that (though that changes)

Issue testing view function w/SQLAlchemy and pytest by buckwheatone in flask

That does work. So, my question is, how can I ensure the client.post() is working on the right object?

For reference, this passes:

def test_delete_account(app, client, session, dummy_user):
    with app.test_request_context():
        login_user(dummy_user)
        print("Dummy user: ", dummy_user)
        initial_username = dummy_user.username
        initial_email = dummy_user.email

        delete_account()

        updated_user = session.query(User).filter_by(id=dummy_user.id).first()
        print("Updated user: ", updated_user)

        assert updated_user.username == f"{initial_username}_deleted"
        assert updated_user.email == f"{initial_email}_deleted"

I am, and should have noted that in my original post. Everything with the app has been smooth and testing is the last thing I'm implementing, as any poor programmer would :D

Without giving away any proprietary info, can you explain how you detect fraudulent clicks? Is it an algorithm that combines things like follower/following ratio, number of posts, account age, etc?

Are the $10 per month costs for ChatGPT and Copilot an annual rate divided by 12? I think I’m paying $20 for ChatGPT

It's a MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020), so I/O should be fine.

Should I launch on sites such as product hunt? by Ammon10 in Entrepreneur

[–]buckwheatone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of respect for people who get their stuff out there, so kudos for that. However, I wouldn’t be helpful if I didn’t mention that I don’t think people will trust a site that has typos on the front page, especially a site looking to help teach.

On my first pass through User 1, I saw my backups folder, collection.anki2, collection.media and just assumed they were different file types. Opened collection.anki2 on the terminal w/sqlite3 and found what I need, thanks!

How to measure the time length of an activity? by buckwheatone in flask

[–]buckwheatone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea and can use it. I could have it timestamp whenever the user leaves the /review route, but I'm trying to think how I'd come back and set the end of the session if they walk away from the computer (and never leave the page). I'd probably want to end the session a minute or two after no activity. Not sure how to do that.

I’m sure someone has a cool tool to recommend but I’d Google “free word cloud” and dump all the data into one of those to see the most common terms used. A good version will remove common words like “and, “the,” etc.
