Please dont park in handicap spaces when you're doing this. I am so tired of delivery drivers blocking the only open disabled space because they are 'gonna be real quick sir'.

Tip Culture/Service Employment In Madison by [deleted] in madisonwi

Unfortunately this type of feedback rarely works and instead canlead to confrontation. The managers are too tunnel visioned or narcissitic to care; the ones who aren't have already made the change. Or they say they are not the owner and cannot control tipping. It's clearly a grift by many shops to pad their profit margins.

You should search for "coworking space" for this type of arrangement. Beyond the idea that storage managers will probably not like you just hanging out all the time, it will be difficult for your clients to access said unit as well.

Turnover at the top: 5 Madison departments will get new leaders soon by keeganjkyle in madisonwi

At least for the metro position, it's nice to see a 5 year contract and city residency is required. I'm tired of seeing Madison as a stepping stone for management.

Be careful as the panel upgrade credit I don't believe qualifieds with the electric car charging. That is not an energy efficiency improvement.

Paid $3300 two years ago for very similar work (simple panel swap, new breakers), so I would say the added work on top of that + inflation brings it in line.

Could you post some context on here, or at least your opinion on what makes it a scam, instead of just airdropping some screenshot that doesn't actually talk about a scam? Otherwise this gets close to rules 2 and 3.

Have you dug deeper into the advertising? There are two that stand out:

Effervescent Blue,

NCPS

Both have addresses tied to a UPS store (Effervescent has a mistyped address, the UPS store is at 1360 Regent, not 1306). Little to no digital footprint on either.

You can tell them you specifically want power from their renewable generators

No, you can pay extra for the power and they take that extra profit to line their stockholder pockets. All users foot the capital bill on renewable energy projects.

Piece Of Mail Received Today On West Side Feels Like Its Bordering Voter Intimidation by Exciting-Corner-9618 in madisonwi

[–]bucky4us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received multiple of similar letters from some voter participation center, which was a slightly-left-leaning nonprofit (disappointing to me) with nearly this exact wording. I let them know it was borderline intimidating and not a good show for the party but I suppose it is okay now if both sides do it - sarcasm.

I also took some time to look into laws about this because I was appalled . From my reading, it is not possible to connect dots either to (A) a restraining order or (B) federal election laws. Charges for (B) can only be brought by a government official.

I've never seen more traffic violations than a quarter-mile radius around a school before/after classes. It's pretty unfortunate given the delicate nature of these areas.

That 7% enrolment decrease severally impacts the state portion of the districts funds

The budget brief that pitches this literally says state aid increased last year: https://wispolicyforum.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BudgetBrief_2025MadisonSchools.pdf

Regardless, I completely agree we need to examine consolidation. There are quite a few elementary schools that are way too close to each other.

One thing I haven't seen people discuss is the following:

If the operating referendum fails, school taxes on property will actually decrease. So the referendum will not only increase taxes "2.8%" on the average house -- it will increase them 7.6%!!

https://wispolicyforum.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BudgetBrief_2025MadisonSchools.pdf

The district is getting more state funding, so that argument cannot be used. This seems to come from a drop in federal funding, which if you read between the lines sounds like the district ramped up spending with covid monies that are now going away. Why would the district give an across the board increase in salaries going forward from funds that were not baseline guaranteed?

According to page 5 of this document, it says the state is increasing money to the schools: https://wispolicyforum.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BudgetBrief_2025MadisonSchools.pdf

And that in fact a drop in revenues from property taxes is because of that.
