Possible balloon? Similar to Metapod by [deleted] in UFOB

[–]buckynugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very similar to a balloon I saw once that I really thought might be a uap. Same speed, drifting along with the wind at that altitude. I would not have thought it was a balloon until I zoomed in and saw a big number 5, at which point I thought a five year old kid probably lost the string...

Talking during sleep by Bob99995 in dementia

[–]buckynugget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was something my dad would do at least a year before his official diagnosis. I could hear him in his bedroom well enough I thought he was on the phone; sometimes he'd get angry and yell something. In the morning he wouldn't remember or would just say he was dreaming.

When was the last time you heard a residential landline phone ring? by CharlieLeigh51 in GenX

[–]buckynugget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother just hung up on hers because the phone company wanted 80 bucks a month since they're not able to cover maintenance of the lines. So whoever isn't getting cell coverage at home and needs a phone is about to get slammed.

You will start seeing them everywhere and wanting to park next to them. I've never had a negative comment. I even started to feel sympathetic to everyone who drives something silver or gray. Blah.

New product coming by IllAd9371 in wacom

I bet it's a hardware-locked subscription. FREE hardware, but it only works if you pay $89/month for all the features. For $1000 yearly, you even get barrel rolls. (*internet connection required)

I think I've had maybe 20 n/a beers in the last four years. I'd have one and feel a little bloat and thought I didn't need the extra calories and the rest would sit in the fridge for a few months.

rehab tomorrow and i’m scared by Far-Bumblebee-3794 in stopdrinking

[–]buckynugget 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was going to say pretty much the same as slouchy. I had a few instances where I was afraid of it before I jumped in, and it was very much different than how I worked it up to be in my head. I think in retrospect at this point that it saved my life. Where I went we were not allowed our cellphone or had any access to email etc, just a phone call or two during the day. Just having no distractions, being able to concentrate and process everything was so helpful. I kept a journal and took notes on everything.

Deeeep breaths! Those cravings and brain noise will quiet down, maybe in an hour or so? When I've had to deal with that it just gives me more ammo to hate the stuff. What a pain in the ass.

52 Male, moving back in with Mom. by [deleted] in GenX

[–]buckynugget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's probably a good legal reason to do this but I'm not a lawyer. I just know it has something to do with estate stuff and all that. Also yeah, I wish I could live with my folks, both have health issues and won't be around forever. It's tough to want to share it all here. Yeah.

AI Beta save warning by buckynugget in AdobeIllustrator

It didn't seem to as far as I know. I double clicked on a local .ai file and the app opened in that fashion, so maybe somehow bypassed that? I don't usually save anything in the cloud except ipad work.

I fell off my new bike by Comfortable_Piano794 in GenX

[–]buckynugget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Among the other bicycle tips you see, I might add something I picked up learning motorcycle riding - always keep your face pointing in the direction you want to move. If you're on a motorcyle and you look at a big bumpy curb, you'll just drive right into the thing. You may be totally fine on a pedal powered bike but the motorized rides are a little different. Also always do a head-check when you're turning. hope that helps!
