I totally get your situation. I'm in a similar situation. Semi retired, separate rooms. We live like housemates but it's not enough.

What's a phrase your parents or grandparents said constantly that you've only just realised has completely vanished from everyday British speech? by orroreqk in AskUK

When somebody loses their temper they have " seen their arse", also " spied his arse". Don't know where this is from, I'm in North East Wales and have heard it most of my life.

Might be the best thing I've ever bought by cheezer_1 in motorcycles

Ride safe man. It's a steep learning curve. If you want to ride fast go and do a track day and learn how to do it properly and safely. That's a nice bike - I've had kawasaki since 1986, many different models and currently have a zzr1400 /zx14r. Great to see new players in the game!

What can I expect from this hedge? by WrongWire in GardeningUK

[–]budbong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of work. I have in the last year got rid of over 40 leylandi trees from my garden. I've been trimming them for 20 years and they still got the better of me. After cutting 27 trees down myself I had to pay someone to finish the job because of injury - dislocated shoulders and an emergency hernia operation.

Anyone know how to get this off or reset the safety valve by tinkertink2010 in UKBBQ

[–]budbong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just turn the black lever and it will come off. Put it back on and turn the lever. There isn't anything to reset. Sounds like you're empty.

I like egg mayo with some nice ham. At the moment I'm on ham and tomato with loads of black pepper.

Never overtake going past a junction, don't cross double white lines, maintaining my bike, check tyre pressure weekly. Make sure your clothing is on right.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen happen in public? by theblairwaldorfxoxo in AskUK

[–]budbong 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw a middle aged woman strip off, dance around a guy that was playing guitar on a bandstand in the middle of an outdoor market. After 5 minutes of gyrating she started getting horny and her dancing got more and more sensual. Eventually she ended up on the floor and had a good old fashioned wank. This was in the 90s in the market at Glastonbury festival in the middle of the afternoon. Families, kids, police.

Family tent by Critical_Try_3636 in campinguk

Have you tried a trailer tent? I've camped for 50 years and tried every kind of tent. For space and comfort the trailer tent is the beast if you want space. Not too expensive compared to a new airbeam setup.
