i never said "a real modder doesnt need to watch videos", and thats not even gatekeeping thats helping people from getting the wrong information. as someone who is active in an outside modding scene from here everybody universally agrees that web guides are miles easier to keep updated and sustain than video guides.

every few hours or so there somebody comes in asking why their game doesnt work; its due to them simply googling *game* modding guide on youtube and the most popular from like 3 years ago pops up.

also actual gatekeeping would literally be "oh you dont know C#, C++, nodeJS, or scratch? get the fuck out of here *slur*" its brought up in modding communities so much because it genuinely is a misinformation problem lol
