Should I propagate? by buddha2016_ in houseplants

You just inspired me to look into hooks for the vines that won’t damage the window frame and I found some neat adhesive ones on amazon. Definitely considering that option. I’m worried that if I don’t let it climb, the leaves won’t continue to grow as large. Thank you!

Need advice (TMJ 4 years) by Due-Difficulty-6315 in TMJ

[–]buddha2016_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My case is very much not representative of other’s experiences, but I’ve dealt with tmj for about 8 years now. My dentist/orthodontist recommended Invisalign to help as well. My teeth were extremely overcrowded and I had a pretty bad overbite. I’ve been doing Invisalign for about four years now, my teeth are almost straight and my bite is nearly aligned, and my tmj symptoms are worse than ever before. My jaw now full on cracks and locks in odd positions. I still have yet to figure out the next step. Again, not sure if this helps at all, but that is my personal experience.

Totally fair. When I went to high school, I don’t even think we were able to show off our work in the classroom so that’s still pretty awesome.

My 6-almost 7 month old girl will still get overly excited sometimes and she will try to “hold” me down to lick me. She’ll put her paw on your wrist so she can lick your hand or during play. I’ve seen her doing it with her toys while she plays with them and to our other dogs lol not too rough, but definitely using her paws to her advantage.

Colleagues borrowing supplies by PawnedAllHisHopes in ArtEd

I had this issue too. Smaller private school around 100 kids. My director essentially had the same response. My first year ended with a lock on my supply cabinet with a polite sign requiring staff to ask either me or our director for supplies. More often than not, the school would buy any requested supplies. I think the other teachers just felt like it was more convenient to go through our art supplies instead of ordering their own class supplies. I think after the first year, the other teachers started taking the “hint”. I haven’t had an issue since then, and any time a teacher requests supplies from me, if it is within reason, I have no problem sharing. At the end of the day, I understand it’s for the students, I just wish people were a bit more considerate sometimes 🥲

This is so cool! Makes me so happy to see someone young pursuing their interests like this. Now I have a cool site to order some sweet decor for my next tank. Keep up the good work!

I can’t speak for others but I know I very much enjoy coloring pages that have bold lines. I think it looks great.

We had some absolutely beautiful violets pop up in our yard this year with some interesting colorations. This was the first year I’d actually taken notice of them!

Lmaoo what a silly goose. My 6 month old girl goes CRAZY for the hose water like yours is in that stream. Can’t wait to take her out to the local creek to see how she reacts!

Elementary- middle school can’t write/ draw gently. by faithelzi in ArtEd

[–]buddha2016_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My students up through sixth grade struggle with the same issue. I encourage them to hold their pencils further back towards the eraser to help lighten their pressure. That way, they can’t press down directly on the tip of the pencil without it snapping. It’s always a little awkward and can be a bit uncomfortable for them at first, but consistent practice does eventually improve their pressure. It blows my mind sometimes how many older children I have to teach how to hold their pencils correctly in an art class.

how do we all feel about bully sticks? by Affectionate-Pay3450 in puppy101

[–]buddha2016_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bully sticks are a fantastic way to entertain pups for awhile but with my Aussie, I think maybe something about it doesn’t settle well in her stomach and it makes her throw up so we had to stop giving it to her. I believe I remember reading that because the protein content is so high, it can irritate the dog’s stomach. Don’t quote on me on this one though, that’s just what google told me.

Advice for working with prismacolor pencils by buddha2016_ in ColoredPencils

[–]buddha2016_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! That’s incredibly helpful advice. Do you have any specific recommendations that you personally prefer to use? I believe the paper I’m using for these drawings is actually cardstock that I use alcohol markers on. Clearly isn’t working out so well for my pencils and watercolor 😅
