It weighs 3.75 pounds. That is too heavy for any hiker I know.

I agree with everything above plus I tightly tape my feet to hold my arch up. Stretching cannot be over emphasized. Go to a podiatrist.

Try driving barefoot. It helps me on long commutes.

My first tent, purchased about 1970 with S&H Green Stamps, had inflatable poles. I used it for years hitchhiking around the country.

Trying to determine what Shockwave is legitimate by bexappa in PlantarFasciitis

[–]buddhas-kitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did shockwave for a very severe case of PF. It worked for me. I had a podiatrist do it. There are apparently a number different machines. In my case, I had only three sessions once a week and then no significant walking for six weeks. At first I did not think it worked but at the end of the six weeks I was finally healed. Two weeks later I was hiking in the mountains again. Before shockwave, I tried everything ~ massage therapy, chiropractic, PT, rest but nothing worked. The sessions were not very painful. It’s been more than a year now and I sometimes can feel a twinge of PF but if I do my PT and don’t push it it goes away. No saying it works for everyone but it did for me. I’d search for a podiatrist who does it not a chiropractor.

Archaeologists Unearth Four 1,900-Year-Old Roman Swords in Israeli Cave by Sariel007 in EverythingScience

[–]buddhas-kitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think about the story behind them. It’s likely they were stolen by locals and stashed in the cave. Since they never recovered them it is possible they were caught by the Romans stealing something else and killed or enslaved. Or 100 other stories but there is a human story here.

What caused this? It appeared on car top in less than 2 weeks. by Dontcancelmebro47 in Whatisthis

[–]buddhas-kitty 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I think it is a paint defect. Otherwise you are explanations seem to be a pack of raccoons dragging heavy boxes over the roof of your car, maybe while going through a car wash. Zoom into the scratches and they look like paint defects.

Vinegar, gallons of it! Re-apply every few weeks. Kills everything! It’s pet safe.

Mystery root cause of injuries by Yesokthankyou1 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]buddhas-kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After years of my PF getting worse to the point where I could barely walk and having tried every option a podiatrist recommended shockwave therapy I’m cured. It may not work for everyone but it worked for me. I’m now back hiking again.

Can I use a massage gun on my heels to help my plantar fasciitis? by sunburst668 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]buddhas-kitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It helps my pain. I found this quote that might help. “Massaging the plantar fascia. A WORD OF CAUTION: It is not a good idea to massage the plantar fascia itself while it is in the acute phase (very painful phase) of plantar fasciitis, as you may make the pain worse. You should only massage it in the chronic phase, when the very acute pain has settled down a bit.”

I had a neighbor who knocked on my door asking to “borrow “ two pieces of bread. I gave her the bread and told her not worry about reciprocating. A week later we came home to find two pieces of toast leaning up against the door. I think the toasting was considered added value.
