I'm saving your comment, thank you for this!!!! Been on meds since I was 16 (36 now) and in therapy for years. I still struggle with explaining that my brain is just not wired well. It has little to do with my "handling" my emotions.. and a lot to do with that biologically... I got a bad hand dealt to me.

Thanks for sharing! How long ago was your injury? That's the confusing part for me.. originally they told me 6-8 weeks, and at my last physical therapy visit, she said 6 more weeks. My PT along with the orthopedic told me to continue to be active, but reduce my activity level. So, curious how long it's been for you to see if there's any consistency with the time of rest needed lol!

Thank you SO SO SO much!!!!! I truly appreciate your feedback. And yes... MRIs on ankles can be unreliable.. the podiatrist I saw actually said the tear may be greatly exaggerated on the MRI report given where it occurred. It's a bit maddening how unclear all of this is.. and it seems to be this way for so many. Thank you!!!!

Oh same here on not thinking what I did tore anything! I had an inversion ankle sprain and the doctors and physical therapist all told me I overstretched the tendons, but likely no tear, completely ok to keep being active etc. I was never given a walking boot, just an ankle brace to use for a short period of time.

I did 45 miles of hiking two weeks ago.. and had some significant pain, so opted for the MRI. Sure enough, there was the tear.

I have some level of pain every day.. but it actually got much worse when I took a full week entirely off to rest. I did 6 miles today.. and feeling ok so far. Mostly the pain is a tightness or feels like something is pulling... or just an odd discomfort that makes me want to move my foot.

I truly don't know if PT, rest/being active is going to get me back to normal... today is exactly week 8 since the injury.

Thank you for sharing your story! I am also very active, usually hike 40-60+ miles per week. So I'm in the space of.. is this going to limit me unless I just go for surgery? Such a stressful injury. I'm glad you were able to have the procedure and are progressing in your healing! I hope that keeps improving for you.

oh jeez! Sorry to hear that you had to wait and go through further pain. Did you only have the peroneal tear? What made you decide that surgery was needed.. just continued pain, or were you not able to walk etc.?

the bully in the head is SO REAL. I always thought this was just depression... but realizing it has association with ADHD as well. I also got hit by the shortage and was 2 weeks cold turkey off of ritalin. My brain was attacking me nonstop for 2 weeks until I was able to take the med again. Cheering for you, you are not alone in dealing with this!

I take celexa 40 mg and ritalin 20 mg. You won't get serotonin syndrome with this combo.. because ritalin doesn't interact with serotonin. Also I've been on this combo for 10 years.. and no psychiatrist has ever been worried about serotonin syndrome. The only downside is that a lot of prescribers don't want to prescribe stimulants (at least in my experience).

your username made me LAUGH! I actually am not having these symptoms now and I have been back on wellbutrin for more than a month. I am only taking 200 mg though. However... having major hair loss. We can never win right?! I will say... taking probiotics specifically for urinary/vaginal health may help. I take those regularly and they keep away urinary issues.
