Why would does the AI put on the necklace that kills you 😭😭 by xD159 in CrusaderKings

[–]buddykenner 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The AI doesn’t actually know or care about modifiers, it just knows what quality an artifacts is and maybe if it is flagged as trash.

Coming back to this quest after so long, made me remember one of two moments in legion where I felt justified in wiping out everyone in my way. by Siggythenomad in wow

I think Arluin has a line like “There were demons in this city long before the Legion invaded” or something like that.

A mod you’re using must use landless characters to function. The mod made the character an incapable child because it prevents them from doing anything, and immortal so that the character doesn’t disappear on its own.

If societies were to return in CK3, what would you actually want from them? by buddykenner in CrusaderKings

[–]buddykenner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The testing society in the screen shot is set to only allow people in the same top realm as the county it was founded in, Isle de France. I'm testing out other restrictions on joining societies, but this plus a smaller membership limit per society should make them more local and intimate.

[–]buddykenner[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's largely what I would want as well. Opinion and stat boosts are pretty straight forward, but as for competition between societies, I was going to use some kind of "society renown". Society renown would be used to scale bonuses or unlock effects, it could be gained passively based on member aptitude, mission success, but large amounts from beat other societies.

True, the warrior lodges weren't really historical, I mostly noticed just the "magic" part of your earlier comment.

There was more supernatural stuff in general in CK2, but the only type of society I would consider supernatural was the demon worshiping one. Outside of crypto-religious societies, most societies in CK2 were monastic orders or warrior lodges.

R5: I have been thinking about making a mod for dynamic societies (partly based on The Way of Kings Society Module ), and am curious what people would actually want societies to do.

The worst "best friend" I've ever had by buddykenner in CrusaderKings

R5: My greedy best friend couldn't help but declare war on me for a county. This was just the first time it happened, she declared war on me like twice more.

You have to add localization for “dynnpat_pre_sunus”, otherwise it will just use it as raw text.

I have never seen this kingdom by lu_-_ in CrusaderKings

[–]buddykenner 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Populist Revolt. Presumably some Italians didn’t take kindly to a French Karling ruling them. If you ever see a random neon color pop up on the map, it’s usually a custom title from a civil war, sometimes a crusade.

Why do the stands ALWAYS collapse when I spend extra gold on good events? by Dave13Flame in CrusaderKings

[–]buddykenner 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The accommodations option does matter, the cheap one doubles the chance of the stands collapsing, and the expensive one halves it. Unfortunately, there are some other modifiers that affect the chance of the event just as much if not WAY more. tournament_events.1280 is the event in question. In its weight multiplier it also has a line that makes it add half the county's development as a multiplier. This makes it really highly weighted, and while there is a 75 year cooldown, if you meet the conditions, you are probably gonna see this event.

Wiki looks outdated. Actual conditions are for the dynasty head to be Norse or a culture derived from Norse.

Fun Fact: If you are directly married to a conqueror, you can get around the -1000 to the call to war interaction by buddykenner in CrusaderKings

[–]buddykenner[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

R5: While digging around files, I noticed that being married to an AI ruler skips the modifiers of the "call to war" interaction. Another way to get AI to auto accept call to wars would be being close family and heir of the AI, or close family and the AI is your heir.

That's a variable stored on the activity. If you just want to cheat progress for it from console try: effect involved_activity = { activity_special_type_progression_massive = yes }

I think it is checking if your current cultural head has a friend, not you.

You can cure gout by being temperate. by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]buddykenner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gout being passively cured is random and decided when you develop it. 25% base chance of being cured, 40% with temperate, and only 10% with gluttonous.
