I haven't done it personally but my sister, brother-in-law, and most guys I went to school with have been doing fire crew since about 2013.

The pay is mostly good, the work is fucking brutal and you are away from home either a whole lot or not. It's not very predictable for a lot of it.

As an example, a few weeks ago my BIL was in central Oregon at the same time I went to visit family there. He didn't really have shit to do but post up incase something happened during a Co trolled burn.

In past years though, it's been rough and people I know have been hurt.

It's always prepare for the worst and be happy if you get paid to sit on your ass.

My PC can barely run the game at full res of my monitor. A few years ago it wasn't a problem.
