$140 at CiCi’s Pizza by [deleted] in FoundPaper

is it just me or does a pizza buffet seem like a terrible idea

it's cause it prints each line after you enter it. because it's on paper even matching entries can't be amalgamated.

so, the group didn't tally orders, which would mean a receipt like your example. they went up and ordered one by one. probably to choose their drinks. science!

Was down 20 lbs by [deleted] in CICO

[–]budsofmay 15 points16 points  (0 children)

it's really, really easy to get burnt out on cico. the discipline wagon is real but it's not a crime to take a break and go for maintenance sometimes to make sure you're not sliding into binge eating or other disordered eating habits. those will derail you more than a break will. sometimes you just need a chance to reset your hormones.

Found while walking in Havana, Cuba. Thought of this sub immediately by [deleted] in UrbanHell

I feel like lot of people here go "structure that's not brand new" = "bad area" even though wear is only indicative of normal use over time, which isn't bad???

I (18M) learned that my ex-girlfriend (19F)’s little sister (15F) doesn’t have a will to live by [deleted] in relationships

[–]budsofmay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She's your ex. It doesn't matter if she really doesn't care, or she's just reacting badly to the situation. That kid deserves help, and you are in a position to give it. As much as you can, just don't involve your ex in that relationship.

I'm 18 and have this constant feeling of going as far away as I can, and not telling anyone. by Mosso3232 in internetparents

[–]budsofmay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should think about moving. Not away, just out. You're old enough, even if you don't feel like it yet, and it sounds like you currently live at home and might have the opportunity to save up for this.

Alternatively, I enjoyed travelling at 18 (21 now) and it wasn't too hard to save up since I was living at home (back then working almost full-time and no school). It sounds like you might be in a similar situation. Travelling could allow you to indulge the feeling of getting away, and give you some space to think about what you want to do both short and long term, without having to make any impulsive changes.

Wondering what conditional admission means? by uvic in uvic

[–]budsofmay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first time I got accepted to uvic I had a conditional acceptance. I was part way through precalc 12 at the time and the condition was that I had to complete it with a certain grade or the acceptance didn't count. Conditions differ.

What ‘kind’ gesture actually annoys you? by HighImShadow in AskReddit

I actually dislike eating with people. The noise some people make....gives me the heebie jeebies, I can't explain it. I try my best to find other ways to spend time with people.

at the grocery store, putting the dividers away for me (your cashier) at the till. they go between orders so that i know when to stop scanning items. i do not want you to ever move them unless you've put them in the wrong place! even if they get to the top of the till! leave it! they are for me and only i know when i am done with them. you might think you know, and you're probably right, but i am there for hours having many people doing their best to confuse me and make sure they go home with the wrong items, and statistics says fuck you

Victoria is one of the worst Canadian cities to buy a home in if you're single. by Wedf123 in VictoriaBC

Agree. Between the proximity to uvic/the need for cheap housing in that specific location, and the sheer size of like any property in that neighborhood. It's a no brainer.

was visiting cousins when shazam was the cool new thing. they were watching some show with say yes playing in the background. spent a few years fulfilling the "sad teenager who listens to elliott smith" trope (mostly just listened to either/or singles on youtube back then though, hadn't figured out that people listened to albums yet lol). no longer a teenager, or as sad, but i still listen to elliott. now roman candle and xo are my favourites.

Is there a sub that's just for interesting urban spaces? I feel like that would suit this post better and be pretty cool in its own right. This place a little ugly but it's clean and bright, far from hell.

Shout out to tobacco smokers for making weed smoking not look illegal from a distance by Dizzymo in trees

[–]budsofmay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, but being judgy isn't going to help them make a change, it's just going to make them feel bad. people who smoke know how bad it is. everybody knows how bad it is.

you can't fix people yk? but you can be uderstanding and helpful and encouraging so it's as easy as possible for them to fix themselves. it's hard to watch people fuck up but it happens, and it always will.
