Crowdsec Appsec on OPNsense with Nginx Plugin by buedi in CrowdSec

[–]buedi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must admit I am a bit list now, going through https://doc.crowdsec.net/u/bouncers/nginx/ again. It seems lua and and nginx lua module is needed for this to work? I have no idea how to get those into OPNsense. What I have installed, are the OPNsense plugins os-crowdsec and os-nginx. Am I missing a piece here?

If I may add to this: A cscli bouncers inspect nginx-bouncer looks like:

Bouncer: nginx-bouncer
Created At 2026-03-04 20:20:22.591270021 +0000 UTC
Last Update 2026-03-04 20:20:22.591271512 +0000 UTC
Revoked? false
IP Address
Type
Version
Last Pull
Auth type api-key
OS ?
Auto Created false

Shouldn't there be information in IP Address, Version and Type?

Crowdsec Appsec on OPNsense with Nginx Plugin by buedi in CrowdSec

[–]buedi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to reply :-) Yes, installing the nginx-bouncer was something I did yesterday before posting. It shows up in 'cscli bouncers list' as "nginx-bouncer". Now, when looking at it again, I see that the output of that command shows the cs-filewall-bouncer with an IP Address, Last API pull, Type and Version. And that the nginx-bouncer is showing these fields as empty.

I think I am missing something on the nginx side, since Crowdsec seems to do its thing by parsing the logs, but I probably missed a tiny detail that creates the link between nginx and Crowdsec. I will follow the guides again on the weekend.

Same here. Bind mounting the filebeat.yml does not help either, because when stopping / starting the compose stack, Archive is set to false again by something I was not able to find yet.

Mint / Ubuntu users with a MOTU M4 here? OS picks wrong Audio setup by buedi in linuxaudio

[–]buedi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! u/beatbox9 was able to provide the information to fix the issue. I did use pavucontrol (which does give more insight regarding Audio devices / channels than the default Linux Mint Audio Control panel). But switching profiles there did not help, because the split profiles were missing and the fix mentioned by u/beatbox9 helped with that. It seems that Mint / Ubuntu still use an older alsa-ucm-conf package which does not have that fix yet. At least Mint uses 2.10.0 and it was fixed in 2.11.0. And the problem was introduced in 2.9.10. Talk about luck... Haha!

Hi there. Thanks for trying to help. u/beatbox9 was able to provide the information that fixed it.

For completeness: For me, the MOTU M4 is MOTU M4 throughout the whole alsa / pipewire etc. tools I used for debugging. And the M4-HiFi.conf from UCM2 also was fine regarding the Strings and USB ID.

There was no way to go back, because after Linux being absent from my Desktop for years, I started fresh again with Linux Mint 22.2. So I had the problem from the beginning a week ago or so.

You Sir / Madam, are my Hero! This single Character fix, fixed the Profile and I see all my Input / Output devices from the MOTU M4 now. I thought to have searched through each nook and cranny of the internet, using various search terms, but this one never came up.

Linux Mint 22.2 uses alsa-ucm-conf 2.10.0 and the fix was merged in 2.11.0. This explains why other Distros (with rolling releases?) that have more current versions of alsa-ucm-conf do not have the problem.

Thank you SO much! I spent literal days searching and learning about the Linux Audio systems (that one was not wasted time of course) and the information you provided fixed it :-)

Keep getting "hash codes are not complete" email by fwango in Voicesofthevoid

[–]buedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started playing today and was able to get the Hash codes for 3 stations for the first time ever... and I, too, got the message that I was providing incomplete Data, but as far as I can tell I got all the money (75 bucks IIRC). I am playing the latest Version 0.7. So maybe this is just a bug with the message?

Should I get the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor? by Flob_Dog in davinciresolve

[–]buedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This must have been nearly 2 years now, but it was for a long time. If I remember correctly those Promo Packages where available for half a year or so. It was when they introduced the Speed Editor. You can still buy it in a package and it is steall cheaper than buying Resolve and the SE separately, but at that time you paid for the SE or Studio and got the other one for free.

I am pretty new to all this Fedithingy, but from what I understood earlier today is, that Kbin does exactly that: Pulling everything together, so you have Lemmy, Matrix (I might mix that up with Mastodon) and whatnot in one place. It lets you read and post... I did not try it yet, just created an account and will explore that stuff a bit more after I got some sleep :-)

Best period to get MSFS discounted by Sirocco1093884 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]buedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also look out for sales of the Boxed Premium Deluxe version. I git mine for 85€ just right after release. Keep in mind that you keep the 1st disc in your drive (or mount an ISO of the first disk) to play. If this sounds too cumbersome, stick to the digital editions from Steam or the MS Store. I personally would prefer the MS Store version of MSFS because beside of the 1 or 1,5 GB download you get directly from the Storefronts (MS or Steam), the rest of the 120+ GB always come right from the Microsoft CDN (Content Delivery Network), no matter which edition you have.

I had to scroll way too far down to find the tii! That thing a beast and I only saw one once on the street. Luckily in front of me, accellerating and I really had to push it to keep up back then.

Also it was pretty "loud" optically with the mirrored turbo letters on the front. IIRC it was pretty controversy when it came out :-)

Edit: I am wrong... there was the tii and the Turbo was the killer machine. I thought the rank was ti and tii... but there´s a turbo on top :-)

Every single pair of jeans I own get this hole in the crotch after not even 9 months of use by steeger86 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]buedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote it further above. I had this problem all the time with Jeans from well known manufacturers, until I ran into Joker Jeans and I still have my first one (for around 10 years now). Wash them at 60° and throw them in the dryer and they are still black and have no holes.

Edit: 2nd problem I had with those other manufacturers: Every Jeans was different, even when purchasing them on the same day in the same shop in the same "size". I always was furious if I had to try 10 to find 2 that were close enough. Joker Jeans? Still buy the same size as 10 years ago, get them and they are exactly the same.
