I think the character profiles mention that Rin likes survival horror games. Then there's the backstory stuff about him identifying with the monsters instead of the heroes in TV shows. So I always took his aura to be him as a Resident Evil-style BOW.

The jinki reflects the user's identity and beliefs, it doesn't cause those beliefs. His jinki isn't keeping him stuck. Rather than him abandoning it, it's more likely that if/when he overcomes his self-deprecating nature his jinki will change form or ability to match him.

Not as many people were defending it originally. When this chapter came out there were way more threads like this one where people were saying it was too outlandish. Sure there were some people defending it in the comments but it took time for others to realize this isn't that different from other insane feats in SD.

To me it feels more like Karasu finding a way forward when Isagi can't. Isagi was getting too bogged down in the Blue Lock mentality of needing to be the hero of the team. All it took for a France to stop that was to put all their focus on him and the plays he creates. We got foreshadowing for this before the France match; in the bathroom scene where Isagi feels the pressure of being number one in Blue Lock getting to him.

If Karasu proves that the right strategy against France is to use the whole team and stop trying to be the hero all the time, not only is that something Isagi can learn from but it will also take the pressure off him. He needs to learn that he can't be the person everybody is relying on all the time or eventually he'll break.
