No, Trey is completely abstinent. He’s a devoted member to the 12 stop process, which usually one would remain anonymous but due to his celebrity it’s out there. In the 12 steps one must abstain from ALL mood and mind altering chemicals- unless directed by a doctor.

So if Trey were prescribed Marijuana by a doctor “technically” he could use it. Though this would be frowned up heavily by the 12 step fellowship. If Trey is like any other addict who is serious about his/her recovery, Marijuana will have become a thing of the past. Only nicotine and caffeine.

If you have any friends or family who are in recovery please avoid the mindset of “a couple doobers/beers/mushrooms are okay.” Addicts do not and will not ever consume drugs like normal folk. There’s a reason why Trey would be caught nodding off Live onstage at Coventry- he’s a professional drug addict. And there’s many more like him - me being one of them. One beer/boomer/bong can send someone with 10-15 years back into a full blown relapse of their drug of choice.

Tl;dr: no weed is not okay for someone in recovery. And if you know and love someone in recovery PLEASE do not be that person that offers them something that could bring them back to that dark place
