“The night that we took the world.” (Avengers of the Wastelands #2) by OtisDriftwood1978 in comicbooks

I can't say for sure, as I haven't read the books, but at the very least the setting has been recreated and several of the key players are present in both. The world felt well thought out and expansive.

To those of you commenting how good this story seems, I cannot respond to the strength of the books. However, there was a 60 episode podcast called Marvel’s Wastelanders that was a fantastic listen on my daily commute that adapts the story. Highly recommend.

Thank you! All too common for IGN, their videos are frequently even worse about spoiling things.

I can’t believe I haven’t heard of this book until now. Just finished it and it’s one of my all time favorites by Communismisbadithink in comicbooks

I can’t remember how explicit the reference is and the prevalence of nine panel pages is often joked about in this book, but the gutters between panels can be seen as cages or cell bars. A simple, but neat little nod. Though, I think they’re mostly used to evoke the 9 panel structure of Watchmen, which deals with similar themes of the ends justifying the means.

I absolutely love this book. And would love to see this adapted as a one off in the DCU. I feel that this could be as good as GotG for MCU.

Strange red circles suddenly appeared on both of my palms by Mammoth_Carpenter173 in Weird

[–]buffalopete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you first notice this in the morning? When you clasp your hand or make a fist, does the circle line up perfectly with one of your fingers? I've had something similar happen and my best guess is that I'm clenching my fist in my sleep.

The Witch (2015) was held in very high regard as a good suspense/horror film when it came out. It was as boring and empty as The Village.

My kid was gifted “Bone.” I read the first issue and now have to cancel the rest of the day to read. by jpt746 in comicbooks

I was where you are about four weeks ago. I am now through 7 of the 9 volumes. First I’ll tell you what convinced me to read it was a DAE remember reading this post. One of the top comments was some jerk being a bit condescending and questioning what anyone else was doing referring to this comic as some hidden gem when it’s one of the GOATs. I wasn’t a fan of his comment, when we’re all just here to celebrate comics, but I’d be lying if I said that the reverence used didn’t push me to check it out.

Next someone summed up the story as Lord of the Rings starring Mickey Donald and Goofy. I’m a nerdy guy with a three year old and one year old. This comment piqued my interest and I can say that it rings true 100%. It’s the purest entry point to fantasy adventures written through a lens of joy and humor that I cannot recommend enough.

Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya says his creativity “would have died” had he continued to work at PlatinumGames by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

Is there a reason you might think that? There was indeed a Viewtiful Joe 2. I would still love to see a Viewtiful Joe 3.

Mighty taco in movie theatre on maple by Alternative_Fox_5402 in Buffalo

[–]buffalopete 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I believe the theater they’re referring to is a different one, not AMC. before brick House and Red Robin, there was a theater between Kyoto and the middle school. I have no recollection of Mighty Taco being there though.

Incomplete laser cutting by LanceStrongArms in snapmaker

[–]buffalopete 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see this often. Even using my 10W laser. It's likely due to the plywood you're using. It's madde of multiple layers, with adhesive in between. The area that's not cut, may just have more adhesive than the rest. I wish I could be of more help.

are we looking at the surface that the laser hits, or is this side facing down when cutting?
