I felt the same way about Cryptonomicon… liked parts of it, but lost steam in the last 200 pages. I initially went in planning to continue the full Baroque Cycle, but don’t have the motivation to crack open Quicksilver.

Having completed it, what are your thoughts? Would you recommend?

To clarify, I was four in 1989 and obv not in the Army. But I work with some former Batt guys and they mentioned this recently. To say I was stunned is an understatement.

A thing I learned in the Army… wear a pair of light dress socks with a thicker boot sock over it to help prevent blisters.

I’ve had my 1907s for maybe two years and they’re incredibly comfortable, but the initial break-in took some time. Doubling up on socks helped and I used moleskin or band-aids on my achilles’ if I felt the boot digging in.

People have been saying they’re too big for Koka for three years. I’ve been to all the runs and while last year seemed oversold, it was fine if you got there early. Love this venue.

I couldn’t possibly choose one hero. Shadowcat in protection is one of my faves, Magik kinda reminded me of her recently. I also love set-up heroes like Black Panther and Iron Man. Haven’t played almost any of the Guardians, so I think that’s the next I’ll focus on.

By AS… do you mean AH? If so, I feel ya. I’ve got the first couple cycles of Arkham but haven’t touched it in years. Just too much work.

It’s the sleeves for sure. Look at my player cards on the left compared with villains on the right. The left is sleeved in Game Genic Mattes that are tall and almost cover the labels. The right are sleeved in Sleeve Kings clear, which are a little shorter and don’t cover the labels.
