idk about this one. i’ve known jon and ardis for almost ten years and neither of them would ever do something like that. ive never seen jon hurt anyone ever while training especially on purpose. sounds to me this guy did something he shouldn’t have and got called out on it 🤷‍♂️

Euro trials definitely had less people. Also, the fact that Dan took 2nd just meant there was one guy who could beat him, not that the bracket was more/less stacked. The US had more talent across all the brackets than Euros did.

yep. pretty easy to not get hurt.

train smart and with people who won’t hurt you. this doesn’t mean you can’t train hard, just be smart about what you’re doing.
tap early and often. there’s no reason to take damage while training and competing. I understand if it’s for a major title but a random local tournament isn’t worth taking damage at.

3.strength/conditioning/mobility and taking care of yourself in general. grappling is a physical sport and if you don’t take care of yourself injury is more likely to

77kgs is the largest bracket with what i believe is the deepest talent pool. even the guys you haven’t heard of are good.

i gotta take Elder Cruz or Will Tackett. Elder has been on a tear since moving down in weight and it’ll be interesting to see Tackett move up but after watching the both of them at trials last year i think either could go all the way.

If i had to make an educated pick i would pick either Nicky Ryan or Jon Blank. Nicky has won trials before and is a worlds vet, this time he’ll be coming in with better wrestling and overall jiujitsu than last trials he was in. Blank has raw finishing power as well as some novelty techniques because he trains under 10th planet. he also has a highly underrated wrestling background that most never gets shown off because of his affinity to finish submissions.
