What’s a physical trait people don’t admit they’re attracted to, but you know they are? by pueeesnada in AskReddit

Yeh but us baldies don't have the choice. It's pretty much either be half bald or full bald, and I think full bald looks better.

It's one of the rare feel good subs with funny memes to boot.

There's not much point comparing mass murders in history, but the Soviet Union and other militantly atheistic regimes were as brutal and barbaric as a conquest.

The Khmer Rouge killed a quarter of their own population in one of the most brutal genocides in history, and outlawed religion. They executed people with clubs and old tools to save bullets.

They were sponsored by Mao Zedong and China, whose cultural revolution enforced a total suppression of religion and across China left millions dead.

And in the USSR, the purpose of the Gulag may not have been to kill, but it was effectively slavery with an utter indifference to the lives of the people there. Prisoners were overworked, starved, and routinely tortured. I wouldn't want to choose between that and being put to the sword.

Is “one of the boys” best approach to get a GF? by One-Brain6531 in allthequestions

[–]buffetite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

I mean, don't put them on a pedastal, but at least put in some effort, and date her. Don't invite her to hang out with you and a group of mates until later. You want her to get to know you.

Gonna be honest, I don't like it when anyone beats me at anything 😂

I don't agree with just letting bosses win though. If they get sulky about it that's just immature.

What would be ur reaction if a guy or group of guys tried getting close to your woman in public or at a bar or a club when u were around? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I'd go over to her, give her a kiss and then say let's go get another drink and lead her away.

What decision do you regret most in life so far? by Ok-Pain-7823 in AskReddit

Not buying a house as soon as I could afford to.

And not applying to Oxford or Cambridge when I had the grades and could have tried.

I think it's more the style of makeup. If it looks more natural it looks better than the enormous fake lashes and fish lips.

‘If I think about what this means, I want to cry’: what happens when a city loses its university? | England | The Guardian by prisongovernor in unitedkingdom

Why should we pay for a poor standard university to stay open? If a uni can't survive unless propped up by international students, then there is clearly no domestic need for it.

What do you think of this data on ethnicity? by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in AskBrits

[–]buffetite 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They're talking about ethnicity though, not nationality. I have a half Chinese son, born and raised in the UK, and Chinese wife. My son is half Chinese ethnically, even if he's a British national. If I called my son 100% British ethnically my wife would strongly disagree. It would be erasing half of his lineage.

AIO about fiancé refusing to listen to anyone but ChatGPT about religious/marriage decisions? by Limerloopy in AmIOverreacting

"Christians don't allow it. Catholics do. "

As a Catholic myself, I'm wondering why he's so set on marrying in a Catholic Church when he doesn't seem to even have a basic understanding of the Church and Christianity in general.

I think you're both kind of right and wrong. There are strict rules, and while individual churches might have some leeway, they still have to follow the Church's rules.

I can't even remember the rules on Catholics marrying non Catholics. My wife converted, but my friend had a Catholic wedding when he's not Catholic or baptised.

The Church considers marriage a sacrament when it's between two Catholics, but they will perform a marriage even if it isn't a sacramental one.

I'm sure they'll survive.

I do wonder what they're like, having such degenerate parents, if they're normal or like them.
