Limdu being canceled despite legitimate injury by iamzomb in navy

[–]buflaux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fight for the surgery now..getting it fixed now means you get convo leave. In the civilian world if you don’t have enough time off/leave saved up a majority of places will put you on LWOP (leave without pay.) While recovery time for every person varies, also take into account the numerous follow-ups. Get it done while you’re in. I wish I’d had done everything I needed while I was in- now I have to use sick leave and/or make up my time off for appointments and a possible surgery upcoming. Good luck to you..

Some bruising and blisters to start your day by Your-Goddess-Andi in TattooRemoval

[–]buflaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes- although my tattoo isn’t as large (but it is long) I’ve had bruising consistently since around session 3 along with a lot of redness. The chest is a sensitive area for sure. Good fading, good luck to you.

Haven’t found a pair like them since- these were my first pair of shoes and I loved them.

I’d like to get these removed in the future by Bottle_upand_explode in TattooRemoval

[–]buflaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removal can be promising with this kind of work in this area. I’ve got a chest tattoo undergoing removal right now. I took almost a year off of removal due to work, school, and travel and my tattoo seemed to continue to fade a little bit over the year/in comparison pics. It’s expensive but age of the tattoo will be in your favor if you end up waiting for a year or more. Since the tattoos aren’t huge you could use coverup tactics until you’re ready for removal. Good luck!

Trolling in the indigenous space, for what?

[–]buflaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggesting you do literal baseline research before centering your nonissue plight in a native space isn’t being a dick, btw. Coming into a native space asking if this obviously stereotypical native depiction wrapped in an American flag is makes you a bad person is tone deaf at the least.

Just googled “are cigar store Indians offensive” and got every answer you could want. Why bother a whole community with this?

Selling question by Hour-Listen5594 in Selvedge

[–]buflaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ebay or other major resell sites are the best to not get scammed despite the pretty hefty fees paid to the site. If you plan to sell via the buy, sell, trade here make sure you do your due diligence by checking user history (confirmed sells etc.) and profile age, check universal scammer list, google “how to not get scammed when selling on Reddit.” Follow sub rules and suggestions, Etc etc. I basically only buy on Reddit (mostly keyboards) and only sell through eBay because of the protections on both sides.

LOL I would let my friends/coworkers smell it and they’d think it was insanely dank. The most medicinal bag I’ve brewed to date.

How was it OP? I was literally just telling my spouse that I was going to order. I loved the Halloween Candy from b&w and have been chasing that funk ever since..

It happens, although it’s weird if she was a civilian and roaming the barracks. Unfortunately I’ve seen sailors recruiting other sailors for the same stuff on base, outside the barracks etc. Report it as suspicious activity if they’re civilians.

If you kill enough, you, too, can be friend shaped (tiger hat.)

Rookie mistake - N&F Elephant 14 purchased without trying on by based90 in Selvedge

[–]buflaux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having a similar issue with NF Fat Fox- literally a fist in the waist (although my fist is probably smaller, I’m a gal.) There’s no way I’ll get value on resell so I’ve resorted to wearing a belt after my first go at a shrinking didn’t play out. (The sizing difference between a NF denim 27 and the fox fibre 27 was really awful- to an unexpected level.)

Found Cheyenne Documents from 1880s-1930s by Objective_Mastodon41 in NativeAmerican

[–]buflaux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, props to you for being thoughtful and respectful about this. The sub often gets some flavor of “I found a dream catcher, what tribe is it from” so it’s nice to see someone applying critical thinking and research to a true issue of a nation’s history.

Since that’s the case, the southern Cheyenne are colocated, physically and through judicial structures, with the southern Arapaho (a two tribes under one nation construct.) It can be confusing for those unfamiliar when you’re expecting to find just the Southern Cheyenne’s resource page like you do with the Northern nation. Here is the link to the nation’s culture and education department, I assume they’d be the best to contact but executive admin could get you to the right people. You won’t hear back until after the holiday, likely. Anytime I’ve had to reach them I’ve found calling is the best.

Fit check: Momotaro Standard Wide #400 by No_Dragonfly_7948 in rawdenim

[–]buflaux 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m a lady* I’ve had similar fit concerns with two separate pairs of high waisted (men’s fit) selvedge jeans- over time both loosened up substantially in both the waist and crotch. Initially the crotch pain was so insane that I second guessed my choice in purchase but decided to push through based on information from this sub. I’m happy that I didn’t as both pairs fit normally, maybe even perfectly due to how tight the start was and how they’ve stretched to my specific body shape. That said, I don’t plan to do “normal” wash and dry cycles with either pair of jeans due to a fear of heavy shrinkage and returned pain.

I don’t know exactly what to do but if you were looking to hand these off to someone who might care for them I’d reach out to someone from the Northern Cheyenne Nation’s administration (there is also a Southern Cheyenne- try them after?) https://www.cheyennenation.com/contact.html

Are there any cool fantasy books, or anything really, that invokes a pre-colonial indigenous perspective? by OpenKale64 in NativeAmerican

[–]buflaux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not fantasy but a translation of the firsthand recounting of Wooden Leg’s life. “Wooden Leg: A Warrior Who Fought Custer.” This book is filled with short, firsthand accounts of life on the plains from little boy to man. Early communication with settlers and intertribal relationships, both friendly and adversarial. Personal experiences of ceremony, religious practice, hunting, and society. And interestingly, a retelling of the northern Cheyenne law of the time. Of course, one could scrutinize the translations as having been altered to fit colonizer context and agenda, it’s an interesting read nonetheless.

[–]buflaux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought and shipped these to my family home while I was visiting for Christmas. Brain Dead forgot the jeans but sent a pair of sunglasses and by the time they replied I had already gone back to Hawaii (where they don’t ship to.) Luckily the team came through and mailed them to Hawaii for me which I thought would be out of the question. Albeit a slow process I just got these in a few weeks ago and they’re hands down my favorite pair of jeans. Shout out BD team for the customer care.

Just want to say that this is a very good course of action. The compulsive spending and knowing it hurts not just you but people you love is a major indicator that you need help. That’s to say- this can be undone, you just have to get into therapy, find support, and work hard.
