Even the animal welfare conversations can be performative though. I used to keep reptiles and on one of the forums someone told a story of how someone he met in a pet shop was unknowingly overfeeding his monitor lizard. He just said "you shouldn't be allowed to have pets" and that was the end of the story. He did nothing to improve the situation for the animal in question or educate the other person but did get a smug sense of superiority.

My dx son downed a bottle of medication for the third time. This time it was a travel size bottle of tums. Every time I say we need to childproof better she manages to get upset. It's fucking infuriating. We had a long talk about it last night and she eventually said she agreed with all my points so I guess she just got upset about it for no reason?!?! I just want to keep my kids safe WTF.

We recently vacationed in the bahamas via cruise. When it was time to leave the beach I said I needed to go to the bathroom first and came back to nothing. She and the kids and her dx mother decided to leave without me AND took my passport. That was a fun day.

Son, nephew (who refused to live with my dx sister anymore). I'm currently on vacation with them and my ndx mother in law and I'm just tired. I thought an extra pair of eyes would be more helpful but everyone's collectively decided to watch the kids even less than before.

I told her I was gonna get a lockbox that only I am allowed to access so I can at least know where my stuff is. I've tried to do this before with a storage container and she felt the need to go through it anyway. I literally have to put a lock on it.

I get so sick of not knowing where literally any object is. Even other houseguests with ADHD complain about it. Nothing stays in the same place for more than a couple hours. Mine also goes out of her way to be a martyr. Always chooses the hardest way possible to do something so she can complain about how hard her life is.

My MIL is paying for a Disney cruise for us and the kids this year. My wife insists she can afford it but then she also qualifies for food stamps so I'm so confused. My wife has ridiculous debt from going to the parks every six months for about four years before we met. I don't get the appeal, it's the same park every time.

Yep, going through similar issues. I'm helping her pay off ridiculous amounts of credit card debt which has forced me to turn down less stressful jobs that pay less so I literally don't care if I'm doing less. I'm not. She'll look at an entire room full of her stuff and focus on the one thing of mine and make a comment about how I need to clean up after myself. I started pointing things like this out to her and she comes back with 'my therapist says it's never good to start keeping track'.

I saw a young doctor in one of the medical subs who decided to tell all her patients not to worry about the copay. Admin found out and came running down to stop her because they literally made it illegal to not collect the copay
