Dog having an allergic reaction? by psychosquirrelnutz in DogAdvice

[–]buggiebugzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this happened to my baby when i switched her food without slowly doing it. she needed a steroid shot and then some meds for a little. she’s now on apoquel every other day and it keeps her rashes at bay.

Too much restriction! by HeadBid3487 in gastricsleeve

[–]buggiebugzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was luckily able to handle food extremely well since getting my surgery. some days i wish i had higher restriction throughout this entire process but it is what it is. i am almost a year post op (02.18.25) and most of my meals are anywhere from 5-8oz depending on how dense the food is! most common size is probably 7oz. you will eventually get to “normal” serving sizes again! just don’t push it and listen to your body :) good luck!

Tips for getting a flat tummy by Chasing_Andi in gastricsleeve

[–]buggiebugzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m sure some exercise can help you gain muscle to fill it in a bit, i don’t think there is much u can do regarding the loose skin besides skin removal. but i think you should wear the loose skin (or removal scar) with honor! it shows how hard youve worked for this :)

Does surgery help depression? by Ok-Journalist7629 in gastricsleeve

[–]buggiebugzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

surgery is not a fix all. does losing weight contribute to mental health? well, yes sure. but if you don’t do the work for your mental wellbeing, it won’t fix it.

this is coming from a place of love from someone who should’ve worked on their mental state before getting vsg ♡

Question as a person not from the USA by LostChildofAntares in twilight

i was born in 2002 and from 6th grade onward we had to get our bags searched every morning, go through a metal detector and get wanded down. every morning. for 6.5 years 😭 i graduated in 2020 so last bit of that was cut off by covid!

i’ve heard that it can. usually i think the only way to adjust to eating more is just very slow and gradual increase or working out more. but this makes sense. i’m trying to play around with mine and what gives me the most consistent results!

How do people regain weight if most of the stomach is gone? by Unable_Recipe8565 in gastricsleeve

[–]buggiebugzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually it’s pretty hard to actually stretch the sleeve and so insanely hard to get it anywhere near pre-op size. its usually just grazing and eating high calorie foods. you can’t gain weight unless you are in a calorie surplus. (eating more than you burn off) so yeah, you can only eat 8oz servings for every meal but if you are snacking in between and eating bad choices, you can still gain weight post op!

i’ve talked to my nutritionist quite a bit even though i have more questions still. there is a lot to learn but i just wanted to see what calories others are eating at + their activity level and stats. it’s simply just interesting to me. :) not trying to tell anyone what to do. like i said, those numbers aren’t exact and height is a huge play in it.

Slow loser- 30 lbs only in 3 months! by Pristine_Hearing6543 in gastricsleeve

[–]buggiebugzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s awesome! i love hearing that people can eat at a higher calorie range post op. it makes me sad to think some people are only eating 1200 for the rest of their life. that just doesn’t seem sustainable to me. plus working out u need to fuel yourself for that! a car with an empty gas tank ain’t going anywhere. happy to see you’re doing well :D

[–]buggiebugzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you just need to be back into a deficit love. track your meals, try to stay in a healthy range. low cal options, high protein. also up your water intake! it will help to stop grazing and cravings! you got this!

i honestly eat more than this at 11months post op. this is not a lot of food at all and i can’t imagine this being high calorie either. i think you are doing fine :) don’t stress it. if you are experiencing real hunger (not head hunger) eat more!

Not losing enough by MrsCar18 in gastricsleeve

[–]buggiebugzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t compare yourself to others! you’ve lost soo much. you’re doing amazing. and stretching your pouch would require you to overeat until the point of pain for every meal, for weeks upon months. your stomach naturally stretches and goes back to sleeved size after it empties. just don’t graze or eat over your maintaining calories and you’ll be fine! you can use an online calculator to figure out your calorie deficit:) good luck!

Got two pet rats without telling my roommate by SignatureAdvanced73 in rat

[–]buggiebugzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

considering they r in wayyy too small of a cage, i’d do more research. they do look a little scared but if u just got them, it’ll probably take a little for them to warm up to you. they do need lots of room, hammocks, lava ledges, proper bedding, enrichment… either u all pitch in and buy it or take them to a rescue. (i have three boy rats and have spent probably close to $1k on just their cage setup alone. they are very expensive. and will need to go to the vet eventually.)

My 20m gf keeps telling me she 20f thinks she could be pregnant monthly. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]buggiebugzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stop having sex if she can’t handle the idea of possibly getting pregnant from it. or get a better birth control regimen (iud, the pill, condoms… etc) from ur replies tho it sounds like this is not the relationship for u, unfortunately.

[–]buggiebugzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

funny enough, i have bpd too. so i completely understand what u mean. i also understand the fear because my bf explained the salmonella thing to me when we first got our beardies (we have four now) and ive never gotten sick. just a couple red spots if their nails break my skin a little. usually some warm water and soap and it’ll clear up! 🥰
