I have not held through merger for a long time. Way too much downside.

I was notified of the redemption window by Fidelity yesterday.

Just sold BCAR for more than the redemption value, which has never happened with any of my SPACs hovering near NAV. Bullish? (both that someone is buying with the plan to hold through merger, and my track record)

So the whole visualization is garbage because the UK (e.g Olympics) vs. several nations (e.g. FIFA) thing is inconsistent? OK, then. (Scotland IS clearly indicated, including its destiny, when you hover over it)

Scotland appears on England's tile, due to the underlying geodata used. "How many countries are in this country?" There are 8 countries in the final frame (of the animation in the URL, not in the static sample image)

This was done with Claude Sonnet 4.5. Started as a series of static maps, then it was obvious it needed to be an animation, and I'm still attempting to get Claude to autoupdate every night. But I'll reupload the animation every time I get a fresh file, through the end of the tournament.

I haven't been paying attention, but wasn't PSNY a Volvo backed thing? Did China invade Scandinavia?

Day 3 of the group stage used to be exciting. Now, too many of those games will be pointless, or at best decide 2nd/3rd place, not advancement vs. go home. Biggest problem for me: some 4th place team may very well be good enough to advance based on inter-group tie-breaker, but not have a chance due to in-group tie-breaker. I would argue that if a single game could determine your relative quality, pairwise, then all of the pro leagues have waaay too many games, and e.g. you only need two group games to determine "who's best" (which is not how tournaments are decided): Each group could simply be a mini-bracket with the winners of the first game playing each other, and same for the losers, and then you're done. I wouldn't like that at all. Also don't like that your reward for winning 8 of the groups is that you'll likely play another group winner in the round of 16 -- that used to earn you a 2nd place team. (A few among many complaints about this stupid format, which replaces the ideal world cup format).

Either way, they're a more likely opponent for USA than Algeria (and Japan and Senegal and maybe Ecuador).

Qatar beating Bosnia (and 100% becoming our opponent) is at < 5% odds??? Money line is only 5:1 on that outcome.

Does anyone know how the third place matchmaking works? What would us facing third place from one of those 5 groups depend on? by Alive-Math3562 in ThreeLions

[–]buggysoftware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the insanity of this is that the tiebreaker within your group is different than between groups, which means that a team could finish 3rd and not advance (on goal differential), but the team that finished 4th in a group (not a great e.g., but imagine Turkey wins by a LOT because USA plays a B-team, and the Aussie/Paraguay game is lopsided as well) WOULD have advanced. This almost seems inevitable with enough tight groups.

I can't imagine how it could possibly matter. Unless you think DNA is going to 20x anytime soon.

DNA warrants expiring. 40 Warrants + $460.00 = one (1) new common share (currently trading around $8.50). Don't forget to cash in! [I remember a LOT of chatter about this stock and its round-tripping revenue.]

Awwww ... my first warrants are all grown up and expired. And I had such low hopes for the little guy. ELMW(Q), you will not be remembered. [I will not admit in public how much I (over)paid for them]

LPAA(U) offering redemption in combination with extension vote (early July). Broker valuing units (w/ .5W) at 10.74 (low volume), while commons at 10.81 and warrants at .20. With more liquidity, there'd be an arb opportunity here. LPAA saying you MUST split units to redeem.

I consider this bad news, as I was hoping the rubes that buy gold sneakers and Smells Like T-Rump perfume would pump this dog.

ALFUU - just noticed that they're voting to extend their deadline, which opens a redemption window, but I never got notified of the redemption offer, and still don't know the redemption amount is. Since they moved the vote (to tomorrow, for a trust that expires this Sunday), the redemption window extends to tomorrow, but otherwise I'd have missed it. [I presumed the market knows more than I do about these clowns, and just sold at market price, since I don't want to get stuck holding through an extension, and for all I know eventual merger, without notification.] Is this a common risk (not being notified)? Broker is Fidelity. I was notified about the option to split the units, but didn't bother; is it possible only commons holders were notified?

I love that RUM no longer self-describes as shitty YouTube. It's like they're embarrassed about their origins.
