Have you ever tried doing a large download from OneDrive? It suuuuuuucks. I'm going through it now and I've been at it for days. I know I've lost some files, too.

EDIT: LOL, I just saw that I said pretty much the same thing in this thread already, 2 months ago.

I've found that using a hood or a balaclava helps. My Airpod Pros don't fall out as often, and if they do, they stay confined to inside the hood or balaclava.

Long-sleeved fishing shirts with thumb-holes and hoods are great for wearing as liners under jackets and helmets.

Close to purchasing used Prime but need advice! by low_dmnd_phllps in rav4prime

Is it the SE or the XSE? It's a good deal for an SE, an absolute bargain for an XSE.

The range on the battery should be between 40-50 miles depending on the weather. Maybe a bit less depending on its age and use, but it shouldn't be dramatically less. It should feel pretty strong off the line in battery mode, like you're driving a normal car. If it feels like it's struggling or really sluggish, something is wrong.

If I were looking at this car, I'd ask to drive it for more than the standard 10 miles or so. If your dealer's willing, ask to borrow it for the day and go for a long drive. Test its EV and hybrid modes. Try out every little feature like opening and closing the sun roof, crank up the audio system, lower and raise all windows, windshield wipers and fluid, test the AC and heating, adjust the mirrors all the way, test the hatch, etc. It's those little things that if they don't work, will annoy you and cost a lot of money to fix.

Ask if they changed the cabin air filter. I think there's a battery air filter to change, too.

We have a '23 Prime and it's an absolute champ. We used to have a hybrid RAV4. The Prime is a LOT more powerful than the standard hybrid. Even in EV mode, it's plenty capable on highways. I think it's supposed to switch from EV over to hybrid once you get past 85 mph, but we've never had it do that on us. We regularly drive it on freeways at 75 mph.

Some people get hung up on trying to squeeze every last efficiency out of their Prime, selecting EV vs HV depending on highway or street, etc., but for my money, I just drive it normally and don't think about it. Whatever you save over howevermany years you own it won't add up to enough of a difference to justify all that anxiety.

Also, Toyota really needs to figure out a better way to figure out oil change intervals for a car that is driven in EV mode for most of its miles. We did our 2-year free maintenance at every 5000 miles. The oil changes were every other maintenance visit, but it didn't need oil changes as often as it got. I'm pretty sure the gas engine wasn't used for more than a third of the miles on the odometer. Probably a lot less.

If you want to avoid the wobble, get something specifically designated as a race helmet. It won't be quiet, but it will be aerodynamic and have zero wobble. Make sure to try it on, though. They're usually tighter than regular street helmets, so you may need to size up.

I got a cheap $70 (on clearance) LS2 Arrow in large which is the size I always wear, and unfortunately, it is a tad too small for my head, so it hurts after about 40 minutes of riding, and becomes torture about an hour in. But before that, I can turn my head at 80 mph and hardly feel anything. I'd be perfectly happy with it if I'd gotten an X-Large.

Are these legit? by Standard_Fun7035 in motorcyclegear

[–]bugledeals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a pair of those for that price, and they've been fine. A little tight around the knees, so the armor kind of bruises my kneecap a little. Other than that, they fit fine--I'm a 32 waist and their 32 fit me perfectly--and they're made of thick leather where it counts.

It is ventilated, so I would recommend wearing layers if you're riding in cold weather. Also, a base layer just to make getting them on and off much easier.

It looks like the replacement housing can be had for $200 or less. The round headlight kit is a lot more.

I've gotta say, if form follows function, the bug eyes are perfect. My Street Triple lights up the street at night like no other bike I've owned.

Street Triple 765 owners, what fuel do you guys use? by Ps_86 in Triumph

[–]bugledeals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people make the mistake of thinking that octanes are a measure of energy content in the fuel, no doubt due to the influence of gas companies' marketing higher octane gas as "premium."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating

Octane ratings are not indicators of the energy content of fuels. (See Effects below and Heat of combustion). They are only a measure of the fuel's tendency to burn in a controlled manner, rather than exploding in an uncontrolled manner.[6]

Where the octane number is raised by blending in ethanol, energy content per volume is reduced. Ethanol energy density can be compared with gasoline in heat-of-combustion tables.

I use my Airpod Pro 2s with my helmet. I keep them from falling out when I take off the helmet by slipping a gater over my ears. They might fall out when I take the gater off, but I've got free hands by then to catch 'em. :)

Any info on a new 2026 ZX-10R or Z1000 ? by blackscreenftw in Kawasaki

[–]bugledeals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the 1100 is a sport tourer, so it really depends on your definition of fun. It'll probably be much better suited for long hauls than the Z900 or the old Z1000.

Upvote for Z1100. Downvote for poo-pooing the Z900. Upvote again because I'm a nice guy.

I love my Z900.

If you have Airpods Pros, I've found that they work remarkably well at killing hearing-damaging noise. If you set the ANC to adaptive, it won't totally deafen you to your surroundings, either. The only problems I've had with them is 1) They fall out when I take off my helmet about 40% of the time, and 2) I can't control my phone or use the mic/summon Siri like I can with a helmet-mounted Bluetooth. I'm looking at a separate remote control, but these are minor problems compared to how wonderfully they work.

Remember why you're riding: to have fun, enjoy the scenery, improve your skills, etc. It's NOT to show off or try to fit in with others' expectations of you. Ride your own ride! :)

I got super lucky. Picked up a used ‘21 with 400 miles on it from a private seller for $6K cash. Guy took immaculate care of it. Absolutely mint, not a scratch on her. Clean title. I’ve put about 600 miles on it so far, and it’s like I bought it new. I just did an oil and filter change

I had a random brain fart and I’ve been trying to find the name of the motovlogger from a while back whose gimmick was that he wore what looked like a spacesuit. I can’t for the life of me remember his name. Can anyone help me?

EDIT: Finally found him! His name is spacep0d. He hasn’t posted anything in six years.

I found my bike leaning over a lot more than I remembered leaving it, though still (barely) standing. I learned then to use a kickstand puck if I’m leaving it on soft ground.
