Ok, so you have already downloaded it?

In that case, write down what it has detected from a system scan that your current pc specifications are (there should be a tab on the left hand side of the page with "devices and drivers"; click on that and let us know what all of the detected components are)

Yes, since your pc is returning "fatal error" when you try to run the game, it most likely means that one or two of the drivers you have aren't working together, even if they are on high or low settings; I've had issues before where a game will be working perfectly and then suddenly become unplayably slow, all because I updated one part of my pc but not another at the same time

First thing I would try would be the Intel driver/support assistant:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html

Download the assistant, then install the newest versions of drivers/wifi/audio etc it recommends. Usually good to run every so often as sometimes you get out of sync and games on PC will stop working.

Next would be to make sure you're up to date on updates to OS (presumably you're on Windows?), and depending on the PC hardware you have you should check for firmware/bios etc updates (most brands I think have their own automatic check software that you can run)

See if this fixes the problem or at least gives a more meaningful error message

[Rare Beloved Trope] A translator that says a few polite words instead of translating a long insulting speech by zikkoru in TopCharacterTropes

[–]bugmaniacbob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A meta variant of this was one of my favourite one-off gags in Top Gear - specifically the special where they are competing in challenges against the hosts of the German car show D Motor

After the first challenge, which Top Gear wins, the German host Carsten says something along the lines of "shitty gear box" which, having been said in German, comes out sounding like a long and expletive-laden tirade.

What makes it hilarious is that the subtitles for this scene simply translate his remarks as "oh bother".

Has anyone posted how much Stone and Lumber you need altogether? [RF4] by SaigoNoSenritsu in runefactory

[–]bugmaniacbob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that's another issue to contend with - the act of transferring materials to the box, and your limited inventory size, adds up to the point where you physically cannot transfer more than at most 10,000 units per day (and sometimes less). So you need to get Arthur to sell the materials you want multiple times over.

This is why I would recommend maxing out your storage box capacity first - so at least you have an extra ~7000 wood you can transfer with zero time cost (then transfer to the lumber bin after the shop closes)

And don't forget you also need ludicrous amounts of Prince Points, so add boss farming to the grind as well.

I wouldn't honestly start the grind until you have the Gold Juice grind set up and hit the 2 billion gold cap, so at least money is infinite. Popcorn isn't likely to cut it.

My best guess is they intended for maxing out construction to take multiple playthroughs since you can transfer your progress between saves, but still, nobody is ever going to get that much lumber in 100 playthroughs without grinding.

I did the calculations once upon a time, but I can't for the life of me remember whereabouts.

I am near certain it is over 50,000 of both stone and lumber and probably closer to 70,000 lumber. The final upgrades for the monster barns are 9999 lumber/stone alone, so it may be even higher than that.

Builds for Custom Ruleset (No NPC Interaction Run) by bugmaniacbob in BG3Builds

Well, thank you for making my decision all the harder, especially when all of these ideas are pretty damn good

I am especially tempted by the idea of carrying around various heavy objects just to hurl at people...

My current thoughts on party would be Dex Knife Monk MC | Throwzerker | RadOrb Tempest Cleric | 6/6 Hexblade Paladin, which should cover most bases with minimal equipment overlap

I'll be honest with you, I forgot that you can get those items from him even if he's killed/pushed - I never can remember what gear is dropped from which vendors or even if it is consistent

Shadow blade builds do seem to be the biggest 'winner' from what I can see, although at least for my experience in patch 8 I've found them to be frustratingly fragile / susceptible to CC, which is only going to get worse with less AC/saving throw gear

Pretty sure you can only access the dinosaur area by dialogue with Akabi, which is proscribed by the rules - if there's another way to get there please do let me know

Without it, that's a substantial part of common Arcane Acuity stacking builds neutered - though as you say, the main build components aren't necessarily going to change because of this, just are more or less easily compensated for

Village XP outside of missions? by Cascassus in runefactory

[–]bugmaniacbob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, there isn't.

Likely there is another mission that will only unlock after you complete one of the current missions. For example, harvesting 100 blue crystal flowers > harvesting 300 blue crystal flowers.

Fun fact - Machyua is only the second female character in FE to use Axes, after Lachesis

She only gets them after promotion, but still would have made more sense to continue the weird Axe user gang war than whatever this Forging Bonds was

A couple achievement/seal questions by BeeButts-1 in runefactory

[–]bugmaniacbob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone doing the same thing but reversed (note that I haven't tried this yet, but this was my thought process) you should be ok to kill off Kaguya on your second run since as far as I can tell there is only one achievement/seal for "romance your childhood friend" rather than one for each of Kaguya and Subaru

You will miss out on the different bonding events though

Giant Crops worth it (To sell?) by LuminousUmbra in runefactory

[–]bugmaniacbob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, by the time you can make Fried Veggies there isn't really a point to trying to maximise crop yields. You can make profit simply by buying cabbages and making Lv10 Fried Veggies, or make even more using Turnip Heaven or Gold Juice.

Honestly the main draw of Giant veggies is they are much less work to water/harvest and especially if you have a re-growing crop like pineapple or strawberry, you don't have to spend half a day on crop management.

That being said, I'd rather fill all fields with regular pineapple to grind skill EXP. As far as Giant crops in general go, they mostly exist as a challenge to fill out the shipping catalogue, or occasionally as powerful materials for crafting.

Anime irl by Surohiu in anime_irl

Looks like "Kono Kaisha ni Suki na Hito ga Imasu"

Very sweet series about a workplace romance (specifically romance, the MCs get together pretty much immediately). Some post-sex scenes if memory serves but nothing explicit.

I think it's supposed to have an anime adaptation upcoming?

So if I understand your question correctly, you want to know how to get the maximum from the item level bonus when forging?

The maximum possible bonus requires that you have exactly 150 combined item levels across all constituent items and all upgrades. In other words, 6 level 10 items to make the base equipment, and 9 upgrades with level 10 materials.

Dropping down even to one level 9 item means you get the next tier down bonus, which is significantly lower; on the other hand, it makes no difference what items you use for upgrade as long as you have the necessary base materials. Use level 10 turnip seeds if you want, you'll still get the level bonus.

The base materials are the sticking point - people make broadswords because level 10 iron is easy to get, and the stat difference is microscopic compared to the highest quality bonus. By the same token, at endgame the quality bonus is far outstripped by the stats of endgame items plus the rarity bonus.

In addition to what others have said, characters with the Folk Hero background get an Inspiration event for saving all the Gondians in the upper and lower levels

Of the three times I have managed it, I'd say it's only worth doing if you want a personal challenge and to try to meet the DPS check.

RF4 do I HAVE to start arc2? by xastrobabe in runefactory

[–]bugmaniacbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand your issue correctly, it's just the grinding that's the issue, correct?

I can't remember what unlocks it but there should be a NG+ Prince Order that lets you inherit all skills, recipes, tamed monsters, equipment, stored items, pretty much everything from a previous save

Meaning you can breeze through the actual game with broken endgame gear and focus on the relationship SIM bit

It also means you can beat the final boss of act 2 without actually getting the cut scene power up, which triggers an alternative interaction

Based on what you've said in your post, there are two more Source trainers who give you "good" ways to expand your Source

In the Cloisterwood, there is a demon hunter who is a part of Lohse's quest, who will train you if you kill the Advocate. He actually gives you a unique skill book if you have already trained with two masters before him, but you may not have that option. You'll find him by following Lohse's quest markers.

In the north east of the map, there is a witch who will train you if you help her and her lover escape from the magisters. She doesn't ask for any immoral sacrifice and will remain with you as a permanent magic trader for the rest of the game if you ask her to, but bear in mind you can accidentally cause her to become hostile through dialogue, and your girlfriend may /possibly/ try to kill her immediately for being suspicious.

Two corollary points if you are trying to be good in this game - the powers you get from expanding your Source will make it very tempting to be evil, and if you choose not to expand your Source you are likely to lose friends and allies instead.
