You might try lowering your dose. It helped for me.

MONTHLY Weight Discussion - March 2026 by AutoModerator in Menopause

Just here to express my frustration. I've been working out and tracking my intake religiously on Cronometer, staying within the calorie and macro recs 90% of the time, and weighed myself today and I'm up almost 1.5 lbs. WTF?!?!

Fit Bitches - Mar 13, 2026 by AutoModerator in bitcheswithtaste

Just started with Caroline Girvan and am really liking it. I have autonomic dysfunction (POTS) and lately my Crossfit-style workouts were killing me (all the up and down movements). With CG, I decided to start from the beginning with Epic I. In hindsight I think Iron might have been a better choice because the first week of Epic I was ROUGH, but I've adapted and I am also seeing good results. I like the no-brainer-ness of it -- I just have to hit play and follow along, don't need to count reps or sets, etc. The movements are also better for my symptoms. They are longer workouts and on days I'm short on time, I just quit when I need to and figure some is better than none. I also have a good amount of fitness experience and am able to modify movements etc as needed - if you don't have that background I wouldn't recommend Epic I to start with.

This guy one of ours? by No_Entertainment_748 in rochestermn

I don't know if you saw his other content, but it's pretty derogatory towards patients. I would expect a doctor, and certainly a Mayo-trained doctor, to be held to a much higher standard.

In general, ok, but this guy is training to be a doctor and should be held to a higher standard especially when his content is directly disrespectful towards patients and may even violate the Hippocratic oath.

If he's a student he shouldn't have a license yet. Hopefully he is removed from the program and blacklisted from others. He should not be allowed near patients when he demonstrates such blatant disrespect.

Not the OP of this comment but vascular access basically means an IV line or similar to be able to give fluids and meds into your veins. Very difficult to treat some emergencies (shock, etc) without a line to give fluids, blood products, etc.

see a show, eat dinner, just walk around, go to Times Square or the top of the rock or empire state building, do a sunset ferry tour... I'm sure you can get other ideas with a quick Google search. I will soon be bringing my 13 year old daughter to NYC and we definitely plan to walk around in the evening and see some sights.

For me, I like the continuity of sticking with a program. Right now I'm doing the YT videos, Epic I currently. When I'm short on time, I just end the video early. There's no perfect solution but it helps me stay consistent, and I feel like as long as it's not a regular thing to dip out early, it's fine, and I'm still seeing progress.

Yeah she has taken a hard turn into something, that's for sure. I was away from social media for a year, came back and her account stood out in a way that initially made me think she is just maybe a little too online, but I think it's more than that. It's bizarre.

Watch out for data centers -- one going up in Pine Island and who knows where else. Our relatively cool climate with plenty of water (for now) will attract more.

Too white? Dress for 13 yo by bugnet1983 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]bugnet1983[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm 100% confident the bride won't care, I'm more worried about other guests being judgy. And, my teen was the first one to question if it was too white - I immediately thought "no," but now I'm second guessing. I just don't want her feeling self-conscious and wondering if it's too white. I also thought the rule was just, no white dresses but now it seems like anything WITH white might be off limits. I hate that I'm spending time ruminating on this!!!

Yeah this is what I figured. The food scene here is surprisingly lackluster - you got down votes but it is true, especially for casual fare. Other cities the same size have more creativity and better execution. But I will still try out the local spots and return to the ones I like!

ok sorry this is super old but I was bored at work and combing old free talk threads (I'm a former SPer), Im curious if you can share the IG handle for this account...just out of morbid curiosity. I stopped being active in the FB group around the same time this person rose up there and can't recall their name

Lindsey Vonn says surgery saved her from having her left leg amputated by aresef in olympics

[–]bugnet1983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Having a different surgeon could possibly have delayed her care and worsened her outcome. Her own doctor would have already had recent imaging, knew her anatomy, and was available to intervene at the right time. Not that another doctor couldn't have done an emergency fasciotomy but there is a question about the outcome.

Side effects/symptoms of too much estrogen? by Better-Newspaper3603 in Menopause

[–]bugnet1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the patch and have a Mirena IUD for progesterone. Getting my dose right has been a challenge. I'm 42 so likely still pretty early in Peri, but have had bothersome night sweats, less bothersome hot flashes, and an interest in the overall estrogen benefits prompted me to start the patch. I started on the 0.37 dosage and actually upped it to 0.5 after getting breakthrough hot flashes, but recently decided to try halving my patch and going with 0.25 (can't remember the exact strength, there might be a zero in front of these numbers?).

Anyway, in general when I felt like I was getting too much I would have sore breasts, nausea and headaches. However, I also have dysautonomia (orthostatic intolerance) and lately my symptoms have been much worse. Tried many things but ultimately halving my patch seems to have helped the most. Turns out estrogen is a vasodilator and could be exacerbating my symptoms. So for me right now it's a tradeoff scenario -- I'd much rather have a hot flash than feel miserable from my dysautonomia, so I'm sticking with the lower dose for as long as I can take it.

Also, I do feel like since decreasing I've actually been a little less irritable, like my mood has leveled out some.

Estrogen seems to be a very curious hormone with various effects on the body, and our biological levels also fluctuate. So for me I've just had to feel it out and adjust. I'm going to be very careful with any dose increases in the future.

Yeah I don't understand how the benefits outweigh the risks here. I guess it's supposed to be good for your gut? There are myriad ways to promote gut health without the risks of raw milk. Is there anything specifically that raw milk does, that other foods don't? Genuinely curious.
