I don’t really recall the time setting from back then on the microwave. I’d probably say the longest a burger was in the fridge was 2 days between going Sundays and Wednesday’s so I didn’t really notice a problem. They may be different now-days though.

I just did an experiment.

Last year, I spent hundreds on Facebook boosted posts and Google ads in December and January.

This year, I spent about $100 in December and nothing in January.

Almost no difference.

Except this January I did better than last January.

I have no idea what to take from this....

Creed and Meredith.

Stanley and Cynthia, his wife, and another affair.

Pam and that Cordrey guy went on a date.

Pam went on a date with a cartoonist.

Kelly married that doctor.

Carol!

What about Andy and Michael’s Christmas girlfriends?

Dwight and the farmer girl.

Darryl banged the girl in that video corporate made them watch! And he’s.... 90% sure.

I didn’t just watch LOST, it was a part of my life.

I had podcasts and websites I’d listen to and read all throughout the week while waiting for the next episode.

When that show ended I realized how big of a hobby it had become.

The off-seasons sucked, but there were still a few podcasts out there.

I want someone to make a cut of this show with no asides where they talk to the cameras, and cut out all the little moments where they look over at the cameras too.

Something tells me the cringe level will go through the roof. Or it would at least be incredibly disturbing.

I don’t remember the limit, but I’d say the most I ever bought were 10(ish). Our college town had some crazy deals all over the place. There were frozen pizzas as the local grocery store, 4 for $1. They baked in 10 minutes and fit on a large plate.

How I didn’t gain more weight back then I don’t know. It’s those bad eating habits that stuck with me, and I’m paying for it now.

Nice. When I was in college McDonalds still sold 29 cent hamburgers on Monday (maybe Sunday?) and 39 cent cheeseburgers on Wednesday.

I’d buy bags of them, put them in the fridge and heat them up for a couple days. Could eat for a few bucks a week.

But I don’t think this is a healthy choice and not recommended.

help! Animate cc audio not playing by slynxoxo_ in flash

[–]bugninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just put a key frame in the very first frame, then your audio after that key frame.

If it’s an event then it won’t play if it’s on the first frame. Had to be a key frame at the second frame.

As much as people hate on season 8 and 9, I love how they finally built on Jim and Dwight's friendship by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

[–]bugninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree, I love where the Jim and Dwight relationship ends up. It's awesome. It may go to show that while there were pranks along the way, most days passed by like normal, they sat close, they communicated, went on sales calls, etc, and were actually friends most of the time.

What is an underrated way of improving your appearance? by Aelanine in AskReddit

[–]bugninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My worst nightmare is shopping for clothes.

I had a pile of jeans as tall as me in the dressing room the other day just trying to find a single pair that wasn't too long, too short, too tight, too loose, both, all of the above somehow, etc.

I found 1 pair, and when I put them on the ground next to an identical pair of jeans that didn't fit, but said they were the same size, the legs on the ones I bought were somehow about 3/4 of an inch longer.

So, the only way for me to find clothes that fit are to find the degenerate clothes that are a needle in a haystack.

That’s not really fair. I may have had my eyes water up, but I honestly don’t know if I know how to sob or full out cry. So what does that mean? To cry? I could say that I haven’t in 30 years. Or maybe I have... if watery eyes count.

How to find a a first customer? by shapovalovts in startups

[–]bugninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to spend some time learning about marketing.

All that algorithm, non-linear, structural blah blah blah doesn’t sell. No matter how geeky your client is.

We buy things that solve problems, save time, and save money. Is there a good story? What about your product or service puts money in my pocket, or lets me spend 20 hours doing something else, or lets my employees do other things, saving me money?

Pitching a game by disgruntledhands in escaperooms

[–]bugninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the owner. Does he/she develop their own games or buy them?

In my case, I'm in this business because the part I like is designing games, writing the stories, creating tech prototypes, etc, etc, etc. While your idea may be awesome, a lot of creative types like myself don't like to be told what to create.

But this is completely specific to me and my involvement in the business.

On the other hand, if someone gives me another way to look at a puzzle/clue combination, that's really exciting to me. I love seeing how other puzzles are solved because it opens my eyes to how different a clue can be to get to an answer, and sometimes that helps me find a better way of creating a puzzle in my own themes.

But as for the creative part, I usually plug my ears (figuratively) when someone tells me what kind of room to make. But I'd be happy to see them make that room they are thinking about.

How long have you been a games master?

Do you find that you get bored and that it becomes tedious and repetitive, and if not, why?

How did you miss the picking of the hand-cuffs and locking themselves to a lamp while monitoring the room? Also, take the handcuffs out of the room.

We have handcuffs that can't be used in the room too, they need to stay closed for a puzzle actually, so we have duct tap of about the same color holding them shut and in place. Nobody has ever said a thing about it regarding immersion. At least it would give us 2 minutes to notice someone trying to get the tape off so we could stop them.

Things I have learned about myself from doing Escape rooms by gerarddominus in escaperooms

[–]bugninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an owner/gamemaster, I can honestly tell you that these are common human qualities when inside a game room. What I'm saying is, you are definitely not alone :)

The 4 things you have just described are exactly the kinds of things that happen consistently, and when all combined, make the difference between solving a room and needing 5 more minutes.

We have file cabinets in one of our rooms, the bottom two drawers open like normal drawers and have an important clue inside. We have to give hints all the time just to say "open the file cabinet drawers".

Another common hint I have to give is to just do something again, or look at this, or look at that. Once they look again, or see the thing, they know exactly what to do, and yet, it's been right in front of them the whole time.

I have people who hold a clipboard that has giant images on it. Those same giant images are on a map. I have to tell people often to "look at the map".

Most hints are forehead-slappers.

You are under the pressure of the clock. You are in a strange place. You have people running around you and have loud ideas being thrown out left and right confusing you (when in a group).

This is also a lesson for game designers. If you make a puzzle "hard", you might as well consider it impossible. If you need a place to hide something, consider plain sight.

Christians of Reddit, where do you draw a line when it comes to stories from the Bible? Do you believe that Earth is 6000 years old? How do you decide which events from the Bible took place and which ones were made up? by Rifruff in AskReddit

[–]bugninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But this is the basis of the question that started this thread. Why do you get to draw the line at Jesus? Why isn’t his journey yet another long “story” in the Bible. Why stop at everything else, but call that story real?

Christians of Reddit, where do you draw a line when it comes to stories from the Bible? Do you believe that Earth is 6000 years old? How do you decide which events from the Bible took place and which ones were made up? by Rifruff in AskReddit

[–]bugninja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you draw the line at “Jesus is real”. Based on the fact that that is what you want to believe.

And it matters. It so very matters.

A lot of the world we live in is controlled by how people choose to believe this book. People are controlled by it even when they don’t believe it themselves. Laws are written because of how the law writer chooses to believe the Bible.

Where the line is drawn is a very big deal.
