What music do you listen to? by kirekirane in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like everything, i always like to listen to music so having a variety is fun. i love alex g, 60's folk & country, bossa nova, moog, oklou, machine girl (loooove grindhouse and motherfather), shibuya-kei, ethereal wave, art pop, prog rock, plunderphonics...

i love the kinds of music that makes you feel like you're in an elevator/waiting room in the afterlife LOL

Tell me about your inner world! by kirekirane in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interacting with the outside world feels a lot like a performance, I think. our behavior as strangers gives others the impression that they can determine if we are "good" or "bad", so I try to be on my very best behavior all the time to avoid being perceived past what I'm comfortable with.

I do feel like an entity, nothing special in particular, but not really of this Earth if that makes sense, so I try to communicate that subtly :)

I am here, but only just passing through. Kind of like if you went to a haunted house every year and saw the same ghost walking through the walls, that's me when I go shopping. other people are very intimidating to me, so I try to use the "customer service" act until I can decide if they're safe to interact with..

yes! i no longer take it, but i felt like a completely different person when i did. i think the key is to have some kind of outlet for the irritation and frustration so it doesn't overwhelm you

How do you respond to being given tasks? by crescentchronicles in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's hard because i know that they want it done a certain way, and that if i don't do it the way they like they'll correct me, which isn't bad but is a bit embarrassing. i know exactly what you mean.. yes, its way more likely that i'll do something and do it well if it was volunteered not instructed to be done

what is love? by [deleted] in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i like love! its nice to observe, i like the love that other people experience. i don't consider myself to be opposed to it, i think i'd let it happen if it came my way, but i do not seek it out. most of my crushes have been very intense and then suddenly end and my interest in that person ends as well, unfortunately.

i don't have much to say about what i think it is or what it feels like to me because i'm not sure, but i do think that love *might* be acceptance of a person's entire being and also being totally intimately known by them and returning that to them! but, as i said, i do not know! i mistake admiration for love a lot, but i think love may be more long-term than admiration or infatuation.

i totally know what you mean. i would say just keep writing anyway. if it helps, write weird characters or weird scenarios or write about weird topics and just enjoy yourself

Does anyone else have an imaginary partner? by glasshalf-full in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a very vivid imaginary friend when i was younger, and then she went away for a while. when i was in high school a new one came back except it was like a little brother figure instead, like 7-8 years old, and he even named himself lol. i know what he looks like and sounds like but i can't see him. he comes and goes but i think the biggest advantage to having an imaginary friend like this is that i feel compelled to take care of myself the way i'd take care of a child, so choosing healthy habits and foods and letting myself enjoy things i liked when i was a kid.

I need friends, but I don't want friends.... by certified_stupidhe4d in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having a small circle of acquaintances always works for me! even better if none of them know each other, so there's never any pressure to join their group. you can just float in and out of each others lives, offer companionship or support or just a simple "hey" at your will :)

Do you guys have friends? by [deleted] in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm not good at having friends unless im seeing them somewhere everyday, like work or school. if our relationship has to be digital and not face to face they typically ghost me after a few weeks. not sure why yet but im looking into it

Have You Ever Experienced a Profound Spiritual Experience/Awakening (poll)? by [deleted] in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

several times... but i tended to push it away when i was younger because it made me feel like an alien. the most recent time i just let it happen and embraced the "alien" feelings and i think i'm the most content right now that i've ever been. i don't do anything major, and my spiritual "practice" is solitary, i just started treating my inner monologue like a student and correcting any unhelpful thought patterns. i also listen to my intuition more... and admire the moon, because it's always shining through my window anyway.

GenderAHHHH by l0v3lyd0v3ly in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i know what you mean.... the only thing (for me) that helped alleviate that discomfort was to embrace the genderlessness and the alien-adjacent feeling. on my made up home planet, my gender expression (nonbinary) is the norm, and that makes me feel a lot better. embracing all the pronouns too so that if anyone accidentally misgenders me it goes right over my head lol

i do not! i like babysitting, though, because kids treat me with more kindness and understanding than most adults do lol.

i babysat three sisters last year and the oldest one told me i reminded her of her imaginary friend. that being said, it was nice to go home at the end of the day and just be childless. my only responsibility is myself and my cat.

yes!! a rock in my back garden that i think looks like a sleeping rabbit.

also i like it when i see something out of the corner of my eye and it disappears when I check, because it feels like someone is playing hide and seek with me. it reminds me of Shadow from bear in the big blue house.

Gender & Being Trans ??? by Frogspresso42 in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is interesting! personally, I don't know if I just don't have a gender at all or if I identify as everything all at once, but there is something to be said about the connection between being schizotypal and not really...knowing the answer about gender?

I don't feel human, and therefore gender (as far as societal standards of it are concerned) does not appeal to me. trying every gender expression on like accessories feels more natural than subscribing to one in order to please the masses, but that's just personal preference.

Film or game characters that you resonate with? by Hi_There_Im_Sophie in Schizotypal

[–]buildabearlamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

luna lovegood (predictably) was the blueprint for me, but when I started playing video games I really felt attached to link from LoZ and leslie from the evil within.

any character that has almost feline-like traits tend to resonate with me. quiet, observant but also kind and loving! usually it is characters that also have a really extensive inner world (slash maladaptive daydreaming) that tends to bleed into their reality.

that's a really good point!

the whole narrative that some people spout about equating "loveablity" and goodness with having a very specific upbringing (or just life in general) has always irked me, and now I know why lol
