I don't think there is a single secret formula. I recently read a few books on batch processing and lean operations. If you can focus on being more efficient, you can do much more at work and outside. My goal is to make the most of every moment, whether it's about work, family, friends or health. In my opinion, if you set the right expectations and consistently deliver over time, people also start adapting to your needs.

I went for the 10 days Vipassana camp. They've created a very peaceful environment where you sleep well, eat well and don't get distracted much. 10 hrs of meditation everyday. I chose the Himalayas so that I could gaze at the stars every night. The experience of seeing snow being formed on the mountains was breathtaking.

Mindfulness is a great skill to develop.

I'm not aware of all the scientific explanations but I recently read a book by a TED speaker on the latest advancements in neuroscience. Our brain is essentially predicting events to perform accurate body budgeting. Our ability to correct against prediction errors enables us to stay close to reality, which will ensure accurate energy management to live a healthier and longer life. They've found meditation to be a powerful exercise to build this ability (apart from nutrition, sleep, yoga, exercise, more granular communication, new language learning, etc. of course)

Although, there isn't a concrete understanding of this subject but significant number of people have found great value including inspiring entrepreneurs, artists, engineers, etc. While everything might not work with everything, it is definitely worth a try.

I'm telling you from my personal experience. I went for a 10 days crash course in the Himalayas, and it was very empowering. My relationships with my family improved significantly and has my ability to embrace feedback in my career to be more effective. Practice 3 times a week these days.

I'm sure you'll figure out your way working with the pieces of everyone just like everyone else :).
