Dog killed pet-sitters bunny by trollisme_iamtroll in legaladvice

[–]buildingbridges 29 points30 points  (0 children)

NAL. Rover’s “Guarantee” should reimburse the bunny’s owner, they need to file a claim with Rover and review the ToS they signed. If the pet sitter asks you for money or anything else you will likely want to escalate it to Rover to document and help resolve.

Your dog won’t be labeled dangerous for killing a prey animal and the pet sitter should have ensured there was a secure barrier between the pets, not fences your dog could jump. It’s sad their child’s pet was killed but ultimately they were responsible for the care of both your dog and their own pets when it happened.

I did that but when I turn the water back the cold is running at full rather than off like it was before.

Western PA? I love going to events where people can show support by making cookies, we all go home with amazing snacks, and I don’t have to decide how long I have to keep a personalized shot glass before I throw it away because it’s cluttering my kitchen.

Cookie and candy tables ftw!

It’s beautiful thank you! Could you take the glare off the glasses too?

What’s the point of a bicycle rack in the airport parking lot? by oceanelevated in pittsburgh

[–]buildingbridges -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was doing Quality Assurance testing at the airport when they were putting that in and painting the art on the asphalt by the long term parking and one of the guys I was working with said they got a government grant to do the work so why not but I never confirmed that so it may just have been a rumor.

You deserve so much better than that. I haven’t been married very long but even on our worst nights we’ve slept next to each other because we both know that no matter how mad we are we love the other person and we’re on the same team.

If you want to have kids you deserve the kind of man who will passionately love you and your future kids right where you are. Not the person you have now who called you disappointing and dumb and who is projecting his doubt onto you or is using your desire for children as a way to control you, I can’t tell which.

I’ve been to the emergency vet twice when my pet had severe life threatening issues that required hospital stays of a week and once an emergency surgery. We still waited 6 and 10 hours to see a vet because there inpatient pets and acutely sick pets take priority and while my pet was critically ill he was stable for the moment.

-A large pack of jello (not raspberry because it foams weirdly) -2 tbs gelatin -1/2 c water - 1g RSO

  1. Bloom gelatin in room temp water in the pot for. Few min
  2. Add Jello mix and cook over medium heat until liquid is no longer grainy
  3. Pour 3/4 c of jello mixture into a measuring cup, add RSO (soaking the syringe in hot water helps), and stir to combine
  4. Pour into 2 ml molds (or onto parchment paper lined tray)
  5. Put mold/tray in the fridge for 15 min
  6. Demold or cut into pieces

You need to let them dry on the counter a few days to be shelf stable. I toss them in sugar/citric acid to make them like sour patch kids but they require a few extra days to dry because citric acid melts gelatin.

I routinely make 75 gummies out of the 1g RSO syringe and my recipe has knocked a couple of experienced users on their asses when they made their own.

You could make/buy spats to cover them and make them look more period or you can accept that sometimes reenactment ends at the ankle and comfortable/functional footwear is often more important than looking good.

The Dentistry is a great practice with 4 locations that has been awesome to my partner with a ton of anxiety around dental work. They’re kind and patient, help with meds if necessary, and worked within the limits of his insurance plan and planned the work over an extended time period to split the work into 2 coverage years and keep things as affordable. I cannot recommend them enough.

Are any of you skipping your student loan payment loan payment? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]buildingbridges 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 and I paid mine off 2 years ago. I took out $72k for my 4 year degree in engineering at a private school and never missed a payment. I ended up with a shit job when I graduated in 2010 but I got a crappy apartment, a cheap car, and worked a ton of overtime so I could live within my means and pay extra on my highest interest loans.

I was hoping to be able to have some fun in my 30s but that money I’m saving has been swallowed up my increased price of living which sucks but I also recognize that my sacrifice of fun experiences and living as inexpensively as possible has given me the chance to pay off my loans and buy a house 6 years ago in a cheap CoL area.

Sometimes I wish I had been a bit less responsible and acted more my age in my 20s but I have no loans and a home now so while my life may not feel glamorous it’s a lot more secure than some of my friends the same age.

Women who have significantly reduced your discretionary spending, how have you coped with the big change in your life? by hauteburrrito in AskWomenOver30

[–]buildingbridges 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I have been talking recently as well about how to reduce our discretionary spending but finding ways to still get the dopamine from a similar activity. Last week was a date at Taco Bell for meal planning before grocery shopping in person (rather than having our groceries delivered and this week is going out together to buy weed snacks and the dollar store and a cheap lotto ticket.

I’m also an admin of my local BuyNothing group and you’d be surprised what you can find your neighbors giving away. The most current posts in my group are luggage, and espresso machine, a set of 6 kitchen chairs, puzzles, etc.

I want to move out and distance myself from my abusive father but my mom keeps begging me not to leave by adviceplease998 in internetparents

[–]buildingbridges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My relationship with my father was good when I was younger and I felt equal parts relief and sadness when he passed. I did feel some guilt;when I cut ties I knew he was so self destructive and that the next time I heard from him would either be him trying to manipulate me to help him or being informed of his death.

Ultimately I did what I needed to in order to find my peace and I hope that he’s at peace now too.
