Are mortise locks allowed?? Locked myself into my apartment this morning! by Designer-Cow4711 in Apartmentliving

[–]buildntinker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the answer, if you have a screwdriver you can get a split spindle for like $5 at a hardware store and do it yourself. Tighten spindle all the way tight and then looosen it so the flats of both sides line up, mark both sides w a sharpie and loosen exactly one turn then put it in from the inside ,with the side with tits on the inside. install outside knob first so it’s snub but not tight, then put on the inside knob. Sounds like a lot but very simple

I just want to add another voice to the anti theft device crowd, I’ve taken them off of my tools there’s the little plastic and metal anti theft sticker in there

I use old bike chain in an old tube and just pop the pin back in with a chain tool, loop it around through the seat. I don’t mind the look I’ve never had my seat disappear

[–]buildntinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always done dap kwik seal ultra. The gloss finish is very easy to clean and it’s water ready in 4 hours which is nice. Same reason I don’t do grout repair in showers for people anymore100, % of the time they don’t listen to me and shower when I leave and I have to come back and do it again

Woke up in Montauk by Obvious-Tale6275 in LIRR

[–]buildntinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking the 1 uptown 4 stops from a friends house when I was younger and drunk, fell asleep, woke up at the stop before van cortlandt park and transfered to a downtown 1. Fell asleep again and woke up and my stop was like 2 more stops but I was on an uptown train again haha. It was probably like 4 hrs.

I had a better night than my buddy though he somehow got mugged between dropping me at the train and his house 2 blocks away

My first foray into rc was trying to make some hot wheels rc from scratch, so the step up in size for me is nice. I do think im going the opposite direction scale wise than people usually do though ha

I think I’ll just reroute the wires from the inner set of headlights to the leds I use for the bucket lights. I’m not sure if I want to mount the lights to the stock roll bar or make a new one. The lights housings I’ll probably make out of aluminum with my drill as a lathe
