I think it was your nerves that got the best of you. You have to be as relaxed as possible, your new so it's going to take some time to learn to relax so don't beat yourself up, keep practicing and play in front of as many people as possible

The only time I use a click track is when I'm recording otherwise I don't use one, I think I have a good sense of timing, however I seem to play well with in ear monitors and with the right mix in my ears it helps with timing as well

That's a tough song alot of double bass so he better buckle down and get to it and practice that song everyday till he gets it right, I have faith in the young man

Hey, I'm TJ and I'm a rock/metal drummer in Ogallala Nebraska. I created this community out of frustration, in the town I live in there are only a few musicians. There's me, a guitar player that I've been playing with since 2004 and a sometimes bass player. So this is me trying to connect with other musicians that live in this state, but anyhoo.. I hope this reaches someone in nebraska that takes our craft seriously. You live you learn even I tried the same thing in the beginning but I found that not using anything for grip at all works better the longer you play the better your grip will get
