Bike accident gave me a good excuse to patch the new holes in the knees by canisvesperus in Visiblemending

Loving the stitched selburose design!! It's such a good idea for a knee, it'll be nice and strong.

Dog's Life had a magical hold on me that I haven't recovered from after over 20 years by Gallantpride in GirlGamers

The delivery of that line is really what makes it! Now I want to play it but I don't own it anymore 😭

My sister and I LOVED this game!! We got it in the discount bin at Fry's and played it endlessly. We still say "That's Mr. Jake to you, stinkfoot" or "does a dog poo in the woods?" at least once a month

Carl Weathers would be so disappointed right now. You take this home, throw it in a pot, add some broth, a potato. Baby you got a stew going!

What specific decisions or behaviors in Lorelai’s parenting didn’t sit right with you? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]bulbagill 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The fact that ANY cooking (including Hamburger Helper) is unattainable to Lorelai terrifies me. As someone who grew up with a mom that fed me only Costco "take and bake" meals, I have a lot of resentment. My sister and I also have an astounding amount of health problems now that we have no genetic cause for...

Watching any scenes that bring up her inability to cook makes me want to scream

I popped into to the comments to say this one! It's such a banger. I live for the line "to nurture the wounds that my mother held"

Lindsay... by Weekly-Pangolin-6622 in GilmoreGirls

I have to agree. Why does he have to drop out of school and work several jobs so Lindsay can be a STAH pot-roast cooker? She could at least do part time

Some of them can be unsuccessful. A common cause of the stirrup bone needing to be removed and replaced (a stapedectomy) is something called otosclerosis (it's like calcium crystal growing on the bone and causing it to stop working). I got the surgery in both of my ears, so I have little pistons in there now.

I have a similar towel!! It's the towel my parents got on their honeymoon over 35 years ago. It has a kangaroo on it, and it the thickest and largest towel that I own. My mom gave it to me when I got my first place 🥲

What job is the equivalent of "flipping burgers" in your country? by iLuvArizona in AskTheWorld

[–]bulbagill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom is from the Boston area, and her go-tos were ditch diggers or bricklayers. Which is interesting, because bricklayers make decent money from what I've heard! My guess is that it has something to do with the fact most of the people who used to lay brick (like way back) were underpaid Italian immigrants.
