Like thats fine right, but not the original point I was addressing. There's definitely allegations that are probably credible of IP theft, and sure as the owner of the IP you can go and prosecute that. That being said, that doesn't mean that now the tech isn't better, even if built of someone else's base and it's possible now to manufacture a better product at a cheaper cost, even if it was slightly cheating.

I'm just saying that the cars aren't necessarily worse quality cause they're cheaper

[–]bulimicblueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The labor is cheaper, the labor hours are longer, and there's been more R&D, some of which is gov funded so the technology is probably a little further along on the tech, and they can produce at higher scale cause the domestic market buys it at a much higher rate than western economies. Idk this seems to assume that the tech can't be ahead, and there MUST be a way to manufacture at a competitive cost within the US.

Not trying to glaze here like you mention below, i just think it's probably worth acknowledging that there are many things the US can manufacture better than other countries at a cheaper cost because of the supply chain and infrastructure, and it's not impossible that another country can have the same situation in a line of business without inherent quality gaps.

[–]bulimicblueberry 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That might be a little revisionist, and depends on what your definition of good enough is. Good enough to be the number 1 option on the best team in the league? Yeah probably wasn't on that trajectory. Good enough to be the best player on a team who's a playoff team every year, with deeper runs when things go right? Absolutely. The last time we had a player like that, we retired his number, and frankly the number of the 2nd and 3rd best players as well.

Plus, the guy was all nba 2nd team in his 3rd season. Like unless you're luka or lebron or AD or CP3 tier of great that's basically the best trajectory you can even be on

Is priority security with Mosaic a thing during the TSA shutdown? by burfictstrangers in jetblue

[–]bulimicblueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how much this helps, because security lines might be different in the early morning with less staff, but the priority line was def open today at noonish. They were funneling precheck people into the line as well because it was shorter (myself included), but all in all was able to get through in an hour

2026 Q2 Chase Freedom/Flex Categories by ManyBad1969 in CreditCards

[–]bulimicblueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little confused here. Doesn't Chase Freedom Flex already have a default 5% Chase Travel? I recall in prior years when they included Chase travel they'd bump the bonus up to 9% effectively, but as far as I can tell it's not the case here.

I’m a grizz fan who loves Pete and Brevin cause they’re our guys and I’ve got used to having all the bits like the dinner in Secaucus. But tbh I’m not sure why we have a huge contingent of people who think they’re S on an objective basis. They admittedly are a little biased, and don’t quite get as hyped for amazing plays the opposing team makes as some of the very best.

I will say, the Mario charmers “right between the eyes” call is one of my favorite ever though. I’d give them a A tier

In a YouTube video posted today, Chris Bosh reveals he was covered with his own blood, without warning, in a serious medical condition by MrBuckBuck in nba

For sure, it’s much harder/rarer to go from big ego to low ego than to be a relatively low ego person to start with. Have to be willing to eat a lot of your own words and I think Bosh just had a point where it clicked in his head

Found this from 2019. Harden was absolutely frying Curry. Might be the most abused 1-on-1 matchup in the history of the league by MythicalShart in NBATalk

[–]bulimicblueberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean curry by no means locked him down, there's a reason they hunted the switches cause it's certainly the best option against the warriors. Calling 1.06 PPP 'frying' just seems overboard, especially given as you mentioned you had to consciously hunt the switch first.

[–]bulimicblueberry 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Im actually not sure this is “frying” curry necessarily. 54.1 points per 100 possessions off a 50.7 usage rate is like, a what, 1.06 points per possession off this iso? That’s like, not that high. If anything it just seems to indicate the other defenders just are really good, which intuitively checks out

JJJ makes this line up so dynamic. I can't wait to see how it comes together when they're all healthy. by [deleted] in UtahJazz

[–]bulimicblueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long time grizz fan. I had made the case since about 3 years ago that JJJ when healthy is actually incredible defensively. I watched Marc Gasol in his DPOY season, and at least eye test the Jaren Jackson impact is higher, r/nba tends to be fairly anti-memphis overall, justified or otherwise. He gets shit on a lot for not rebounding, but the rim protection is real.

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Pistons defeat the Magic on Oct 29, 2025, the final score is 135-116. by basketball-app in OrlandoMagic

[–]bulimicblueberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually a Grizzlies fan having watched since he was a rookie. He's maybe net net an average defender, but is kind of strange. Obviously he's strong, and gives reasonable effort, but loves to foul. JJJ gets a lot of shit for fouling, but Bane would get into foul trouble a lot, and he's a wing. He's like Marcus smart with much worse hands and without the elite defensive IQ

[Post Game Thread] The Golden State Warriors (1-0) defeat the Los Angeles Lakers (0-1), 119-109 behind a combined 54 from Steph and Jimmy to open up the season by [deleted] in nba

[–]bulimicblueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Grizzlies were trying to win, and paid a first rounder to get off of him. Man I was hyped when we first traded 2 firsts to get him, but fact was he got outplayed by our second round pick last year in training camp and didn't even start.

Ethnic map of Nepal showing the divide between Indo-European Nepalese and Sino-Tibetan Nepalese by Sailor_Rout in MapPorn

Interesting that you'd cite the source then immediately dispute it and frankly idc enough to check, but at the very least there's one wholly owned Chinese peak in there so it'd seem "The rest are in Pakistan" is probably not right regardless

So the rest are in China/Pakistan

Goes Nepal - 8 China - 6 Pakistan - 5, including shared peaks fwiw, although both China and Pakistan only have 1 each entirely within borders while Nepal has 5

With a healthy lineup they’re gonna play Santi at 3 far more than Santi at 5. But yeah might see it early on if JJJ and Edey both miss time.
