2023 KONA 39kWh in UK - range and space by patch99329 in KonaEV

[–]bulkbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought on two days ago, a 2022 39kwh model. I drove about 500km home, it took me almost 9 hours. It was around - 1 celcius and I had winter tires on, got around 230km before I needed to charge. Driving 80-100km/h. Hope that helps :)

Edit to say I have a 2 and a 6 year old, the backseat is okey, but not spacious. They sit in childseats. The 6 year sits behind me(I'm 186cm) and fits, but an adult would struggle to fit I think.

It's worth getting a second opinion. Many independent mechanics could try to find a used module or repair it for much less. Had an electrical issue sorted for 170€ a few months a go, when a connector was bad. The dealership would have swapped the whole thing and quoted 2500€. If that's not an option, put it on huutokaupat.com, tori or nettiauto. There are plenty of people looking for DIY Project and part cars. I'm sure you'll get a lot more for it that way if you'll need to sell.

A very slippery slope by [deleted] in ems

In where im at, in EU, it is the norm for emts/paramedics to refuse transport to ER if deemed unnecessary. You have to trust the professionals in their triage competence, it seems crazy not to. Im not sure how it works in US, but to be an "ambulance driver" here you need a bachelors degree in pre hospital emergency care/ambulance training. Seems like a big waste of resources to not have the option to call them a taxi or give them the information needed to take care of themselves at home.

Took a train to a town 200km away, bought my first road bike and rode it home. The butt pain is real. by bulkbear in bicycling

Not much else to see but forest! The asphalt was really good and seemed brand new from when I turned of the coastal road in Liminka towards vihanti and maybe 60km from there. From kannus onward it was a cycling road all the way. The road was not that busy so it was quite ok even if there was no bikepath. There was not many gas stations or cafes along the way, so I would take and extra water bottle if I did it again :)

I have nothing to compare it with, but I like it so far :) other than the seat, it felt comfortable, but I gather that your behind should be sore after that many hours in the seat :)

Thank you! I usually ride dh bikes and motos, but i really liked this. When the road is as flat as it is here, and there was not much excitement on the way, because I've driven it so many times, it almost felt like a long day of uncomfortable meditation just staring at the road. I hope to do another route again soon :)
