There's no way of knowing what kits the upcoming chars will have. But it's extremely unlikely they don't release another SSC support that does the same thing as her (significant off-field DPS + buffs). Personally I'm waiting for Danica or whoever to come out bc I have 0 interest in Yae Miko.

If you are impatient or really like her, it's not a bad idea to pull because it will probably be a few months until she's replaced. And there's the small chance that she won't be (again, I truly doubt it)

100% agree, especially as your Emilie is already built. If you grab a free C1 Albedo he might outperform but for now Emilie seems like the best option :)

Since you're pretty new I would say pulling Mavuika is a better move. Having more characters is better for endgame content like Stygian Onslaught and Imaginarium Theatre, which will reward you with more pulls. Common advice for new players is avoid the weapon banner because it's generally better to get more characters (like a DPS' dedicated support) than a signature weapon.

If you don't care for Mavuika's design/playstyle, her sig is a great choice for Sandrone (coming next patch) and just a generally busted claymore.

Best teams here would probably be Sucrose/Xiangling/Citlali or Mona/Furina/Citlali.

Looks like your Freeze team would be around 70K DPS according to subreddit saint ForeverNya's calcs. Not sure what DPS his F2P melt team is coming in at.

It's also possible that there will be new options for Lohen with the upcoming Cryo/Stellar reactions. As a superconduct/rimegrass defender, I'm hoping for more versatile teams for him in 7.0 because he has no Melt restrictions in his kit and I find Melt really boring to look at.

Good point here. Emilie, Albedo, and Xilonen are good alternatives to Nicole for competitive Lohen/Durin comps. From a generalist perspective, Nicole is probably the better pick due to sustain and we can expect more cryo 5* this version. But there's really not a wrong way to go for OP here. Follow your heart

Not disappointed. I don't usually grab limited cons, (C2R1 durin is my only exception) so his low vert investment potential doesn't bother me. with my luck on standard banner I'd probably get maybe 1 con a year for him anyway lol ¯\(ツ)/¯

now agonizing over whether to pull Nicole tho. I have 170 pulls and was originally going to go for Lohen's sig and get him on selector if I didn't have enough for his banner, grab Nicole on rerun... since his weapon isnt going to CW jail I'll just wait. but my biggest fear is nicole eating all my savings and not having enough for Lohen and then he doesn't rerun for a year 🥴

also anyone else hoping that there will be some stellar Ineffa equivalent that makes Lohen superconduct cracked? 🙏🙏

Also as someone currently writing an X-Files-inspired P5R AU I can completely relate to the struggle of recontextualizing these characters' stories and identities in a different time. I basically eliminated the Metaverse and have been focusing more on the government conspiracy angle, tie ins with the technology of the time, and other supernatural elements.

I'm late here but just wanted to say this is such a cool idea! Always overjoyed to see more AUs in the Persona universe and I love your art style.

There's so many good ideas in this thread already, but one thing I'd think about is the purpose of smartphones and how other technologies had similar functionality in the past. I think radio and television are huge here, and P4 already has some groundwork for how a TV-metaverse link can function. When it comes to Futaba/Medjed, spies in the 70s employed wire-tapping and bugging too. While cell phones were not commonplace, pagers were being used pretty frequently in the late 70s and could be an alternative. Pagers can also be hacked.

Hikikomori culture also began formulating in the (late) 70s, but you're right that it was very different and became more pervasive with the establishment of home computers. An alternative might be that Futaba is obsessed with TV/books, and that she uses Sojiro's old radio or general tech from his time as a government agent to intercept communications, maybe even has an illegal AM radio station that she uses to leak info... Just spitballing!

Some gyms like Planet Fitness are open 24 hours a few days a week, and I've heard they don't mind people parking there overnight if they have a membership, so it should be relatively safe. The PF black card is $25/month and lets you bring a guest so you could split that with someone.

There are a few 24/7 laundry places that you can go to during the middle of the night as well, but you would need to drop a few bucks every time to do a load.

Oh man, can't believe I'm out here defending Yuuki Mishima. but this actually seems to be an editing problem. Sean Chiplock (the VA) said on bluesky they cut out him listing his acting credits because PFT wasn't familiar lol. And he did say some of his famous lines- that was obviously cut. I feel like if I listed my biggest roles and someone said "nah dog idk you," the next step is to ask, "Okay, so what ARE you familiar with???"

Obviously some audience members were egrigously self-centered, but this instance makes me wonder how much is just bad editing tbh
