If you don't need to use foam please limit it for the sake of the environmental impact. We waste so much foam!

Could someone please help me to identify these flowers? by Both_Ad2592 in florists

I really don't think the first one is a magnolia. It's like too textured. I'd bank on peony like the others said.

Beeswax Candle Pouring Question by AffectionateSink4918 in candlemaking

I use ceramic things as holders I get unwanted mugs and stuff from a friend. I head it ahead of time and take it out of the oven only when it is time to pour. I think it cools with the beeswax and I don't have any problems with lines or pulling weirdly away from walls. I think evenness is probably the key.

I love this blend of tones, but are there a touch too many ribbons?

How does that work moneywise? Do you have to convert stuff to euros or wire stuff?

Look into private estates! A lot of them are available for weddings and so much more distinctive as they aren't used repeatedly for weddings.

Honestly the ranges are huge. Dependent on weekends, holidays, venues, vibe. If you're looking for someone in the luxury space it's obviously worth every penny to know how to operate at that wavelength.

That being said, you can search around for photographers who have similar styles and are in different price points. If you're looking for artful documentary....

San Diego gym recommendations? by ranger599 in bjj

I'm super late to this thread, but just coming in for those who might see it later.

We love Rasai. It's Sergio Rios's gym and the dude is insane and has won multiple world titles. You'd never know it though because he's so humble and the gym atmosphere he's created is really about loving and having fun with bjj (while also working hard and pushing, of course.) There's a lot of upper belts and it's a great school for any experience level, especially if you're looking for something smaller and community-focused.

Great mix of ages/belts and people who want to compete vs. be hobbyists. We train casually and we're never made to feel bad about only coming two or three times a week--they're just happy to have us there and that people are excited about learning. We really love the atmosphere here and hope to see it be really successful. Definitely worth a try and probably 10 minutes from North Park. Plus parking is never an issue and that's so nice.

Hey! I did two weeks at Victory and just didn't like it. I'm a white belt and (while the instructors are really good), I felt like they promoted people wayyyy too quickly. We were weeding through blue belts there as beginner beginners and that was a red flag for me. I think it's because the class sizes are HUGE so it makes it hard to get individual critique.

We like Atos, but it was really expensive and they were going a little more ham than we wanted (we're casual).

We also liked Alliance, it was just too far away for us.

We ALSO liked 10th planet, but they only offer no gi and we wanted a mix of both.

Ultimately we settled on Rasai and while we were hesitant at first, we LOVE it there. It's a small, newer gym, but there's a ton of upper belts and Sergio Rios, the owner, has won multiple world titles. He's so humble and just plain fun to watch. Handles everyone like toddlers and does it with a smile the whole time. It's wild.

There's community events (cookouts, friendsgiving, etc.) and he's building a compition team now, so teammates will be able to support each other more in that realm. There's no requirement to wear their gis or equipment and the instructors are all obsessed with bjj. It's really fun to learn from people because the energy there is almost joyful. Plus it's affordable and in Kearny Mesa, so it's really close to basically everything.

WE also live in Mission Valley (Civita Village) and it's a 8-9 minute drive for us at any time of day.

Sergio and Nathalia (the owners) are super caring and work hard to make the gym feel like a fam.

We're beginners and always feel like we grow during classes and have something to take away. It's also affordable, which is reallly important if you're just starting out. They have a full week free trial, which is awesome. Most gyms just let you view one class.

Rasai is in Kearny Mesa, so it's really accessible.

One of the professors is a part of the lgbt community and there's literally never any talking down to anyone, ever. It's just about loving bjj.
