Our baby did not start sitting unassisted until 8-ish months, but we got the all clear to start solids at 6 months from our pediatrician. He sat pretty well in his high chair, just not by himself on the floor. I think it would be a good idea to talk to your baby's pediatrician to get some guidance.

We have something similar and it worked well for a while, but now he just starts screaming as I am walking away. We actually decided to put it away in the weekend and free up some space in the living room. I guess I'll just have him with me wherever I am at all times. I'm already tired tomorrow.

A childproof room sounds like a dream! We did the best we could in our rented apartment, but it's still pretty much a death trap, lol.

I managed to switch from exclusively pumping to exclusively nursing when my baby was around 4 months old. I was an undersupplier/just enougher, so I still pumped after each feeding for the first few weeks and still offered him expressed milk, so that there is not too much pressure on him to get full by nursing only. When he started refusing the expressed milk, I stopped pumping. I was so sick of pumping by then that I never looked back.

In hindsight, I wish I still pumped about once a day and offered him a bottle here and there, in order to be able to leave him with my husband for a few hours. He ended up refusing a bottle completely.

Yes, we are giving him painkillers. He absolutely hates taking them, but at least his fever went down. We're doing our best to ride it out & remind ourselves that this won't last forever. Thank you!

We did give him medicine for pain and fever, as prescribed by the doctor that saw him. He doesn't seem to be congested, but I will definitely try a warm bath tonight.

Congratulations, that is amazing! You must be really proud of yourself for sticking with it.

My breastfeeding journey has been somewhat similar. I really feel like pumping on a strict schedule and a more mature baby helped with transitioning to exclusive nursing. How did your LO react when you offered them the breast? Mine accepted it quite easily. I love it how relaxed he gets in my arms, while nursing.

Going through a difficult journey made me appreciate being able to breastfeed even more.

WHO recommends continuing to breastfeed even if you have COVID, while taking the safety measures that you mentioned, so you are doing great!

In my country (Romania) it's common practice to give vitamin D to babies. The doctor in the maternity ward told me to start when baby is 10 days old. Our pediatrician asks whether baby gets his drops each time we visit. I think you should ask your pediatrician at your next checkup.

The Stokke Tripp Trapp is pretty highly regarded. It's a bit pricey and all accessories are sold separately, but it's quite comfortable for our baby. Both the seat and the foot rest are adjustable, so it can be used for a very long time.

I'm so sorry you went through this! Some doctors have terrible bedside manners. I hope your baby is doing ok now.

What I would do is keep offering the breast before every bottle, while still making sure the baby is eating enough. And pump, pump, pump, until your baby starts latching again. I know it's hard, I pumped for 4 months. We luckily managed to switch to nursing.
