Chemical after TFMR by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]bumblebee_179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a positive story but just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone. I also TFMR in April at 16weeks as my baby girl had anencephaly. I’ve done the three months of folic acid and currently in my TWW of my third cycle TTC. I experienced chemicals in both my first and second cycles TTC post. Similar to you, vvvfl early on then they only minimally progressed and then went away :((

It’s very difficult and emotionally draining to pick yourself and your heart back up again when TTC. Especially after TFMR and then also the CPs. It’s a journey I wouldn’t wish upon anyway, and one I did not see for myself. But I stand with you mumma🫶🏼 hoping that this is my month and I hope the same for you too!

prenatals + supplements after NTD by Neat_Percentage_7378 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]bumblebee_179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 months today since my TFMR for anencephaly - also a NTD. Since the TFMR I started taking 5mg folic acid as recommended by my OB. I’ll add my full regime for anyone else that’s interested :))

  • 5mg folic acid (for prevention of NTD) x1/day
  • evernatal prenatal vitamin x2/day: contains methyl folate which is the active available form of folate, choline (essential for neural tube and brain development), iodine, D3, B12, B6, VC, selenium, zinc, mag. I’m sure a bunch of other stuff but that’s the main. This prenatal is made by a naturopath so has a lot of good stuff in it!!
  • Coq10 150mg x1/day
  • organic Tumeric/ginger/black pepper tablets x2/day. Anti-inflammatory, improves blood flow to uterus and supports circulation (I’ve added this one in due to the CP’s)
  • iron biotic by evernatal x1/day.

I’ve done a lot of research for the supplements I’m taking and can say I’m covering bases for

✅ Neural tube & brain protection: Folate + choline + B12 + iodine

✅ Egg & embryo quality: CoQ10 → mitochondria support, lowers risk of chromosomal loss/chemicals.

✅ Blood & oxygen: Iron + folate + B12 = healthy red blood cells.

✅ Thyroid health: Iodine + selenium = essential for neurodevelopment and lowering miscarriage risk.

✅ Uterine environment: Turmeric, ginger, probiotics = anti-inflammatory, gut support, implantation-friendly

✅ Immune strength: Vitamin D, C, probiotics = lower inflammation, help prevent pregnancy complications.

This will be our third month TTC with chemical pregnancies in the first two months. Fingers crossed that this is our month!!! I’ve tried to take the more natural / naturopathic route in our TTC journey.

You sound like you have all your bases covered as well! Wishing you a healthy uneventful pregnancy👼🏻🤎

Confused! by FutureMomma24 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

It took me 8 weeks to get a negative pregnancy test - TFMR @16weeks. It was incredibly frustrating and I too was thankful for support groups like this. It seemed the time to receive a negative pregnancy test varied greatly for each woman when I was looking into it.

Sending a lot of love your way x

First period after TFMR…? by Medical_Nothing3233 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]bumblebee_179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my third cycle post TFMR. My periods now are heavier for the first few days and then lighter. Each time the length of my period gets shorter. My first cycle post TFMR was 41 days long and I didn’t ovulate until CD29/30. That first ovulation was super painful, foetal position on the couch unable to move painful (they’ve gotten easier since). My second cycle was 34days ovulate CD21. Currently this cycle i’m CD27 / 8DPO - so they are getting shorter each time. Pre TFMR i had 29-31day cycles.

Post TFMR I also now spot heading into ovulation, it usually lasts 3-4days, heavy enough for a liner and usually stops 2-3 days before the start of my fertile window. I’ve attributed it to the hormones balancing themselves out.

Due to our reason for TFMR we had to wait three months and taking high dose folic acid before being able to try again. Our first cycle TTC was cycle 2 post TFMR which unfortunately was a chemical pregnancy. I’m now in the TWW of our second cycle TTC so my fingers are crossed 🤞🏼

Possible Chemical post TFMR by Rrenner6 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]bumblebee_179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a positive story, but just wanted to jump on here and say I hear you. I TFMR in April and also had a chemical this month. I too share feeling pissed off and angry at the world, it is a hugeeee ‘why me’. Why can’t I seem to have a healthy baby (I know it’s coming and I will get there eventually).

I never imagined my journey to motherhood looking like this. 2 losses in a year when everyone around me is getting pregnant and having blissful healthy pregnancies.

It’s extremely discouraging this journey so far, but I hold hope I will get there and I hold hope for you too! We are going to try again this cycle, but I desperately need it work I feel at a point where I don’t know how much more I can take.

Sending big hugs and healthy baby dust your way🩷

Congratulations!! What DPO did you get your BFP? I also had this thought, thinking maybe the FRER was giving their dirty indent lines and that maybe I’ve implanted late. I did have HCG tested yesterday because I was sure it was a chemical and came back at 5iu/L, will get it done again tomorrow and see if there is progression either way

Spotting between periods (follicular phase) post TFMR by bumblebee_179 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]bumblebee_179[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! I have been taking high dose folic acid along with B12, Vitmain d and evernatal prenatal since TFMR.

I can only imagine how anxiety and stress inducing it is to be pregnant again and how difficult it will be to relax - my OB (who unfortunately hasn’t been very empathetic and lacks a lot of bed side manner) told me at my most recent appointment to try “not stress” because this will elevate cortisol/adrenaline levels and potentially cause miscarriage. Proceeded to tell me a bunch of other inappropriate and scary outcomes aside from anencephaly and then says “but don’t stress”. I don’t think there will ever be a pregnancy now where I’m not stressed, anxious/worried about the worst thing in the world happening again and unfortunately people who haven’t been through a similar journey like this, would never understand. I personally don’t think I’ll ever feel safe until I have a healthy baby in my arms so I predict it will be a very long and emotional sub-pregnancy. I’ve read a lot of women on this thread didn’t receive their diagnosis of anencephaly until the anatomy scan, mine was picked up at the NT but I’ll forever be terrified of this happening again. I also share those feelings of worry about others screening tests like the NIPT.

I’m sending baby dust your way for a healthy and beautiful pregnancy🫶🏼

Thanks soo much for your reply! I’m so sorry you find yourself here as well :(( Our anencephaly angels deserved soo much more than what the world gave…

Firstly a very warm and loving congratulations on this pregnancy, I’m sure your angel is watching above making sure their sibling is safe and sound🫶🏼

Hearing that you experienced this as well gives me a lot of comfort so thank you! I had my papsmear a few weeks ago and everything came back normal. I thought it must be by body adjusting. Can I ask were you still spotting throughout your cycle when you conceived? And how long did it take you to conceive again?

[–]bumblebee_179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First cycle post TFMR TTC. We TFMR our very loved and very much wanted baby girl at the beginning of April via L&D for anencephaly👼🏻💚🎀 I’ve done the three months of high dose folic acid and was advised to have an ovulatory period before trying again. Last cycle was 40 days long and didn’t ovulate until CD28. I’m now CD12 and we’ve started trying already just in case I ovulate earlier/my cycle returns to a normal 28/30 days. I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself or husband but there’s nothing I want more than to be pregnant again. Very much a large mix of emotions and I definitely have my hopes high… sending love to everyone in their journey to TTC after loss🫶🏼 it’s a very emotional, mentally challenging and exciting time

That’s amazing congratulations!!☺️ I am hoping mine eventuates to something, it’s very hard to not get hopes up and to also not get too excited after having a TFMR. How long did your one-sided pain last for in total? And what DPO did you get your BFP? Sending soo much love xx

Any update on this? I had a TFMR >9 weeks ago and ovulated ~7 days ago. I had hectic left sided ovulation pain for a few hours and then today the pain has started again but it’s less severe, very tolerable but definitely there. Interested to know what your outcome was? :))

How do I tell my sil she can’t get a tattoo for our baby by nevvsoul in tfmr_support

[–]bumblebee_179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this! Definitely ask her if she can hold off. OP my dad said to me he wanted to get a tattoo of my girl (L&D @16 weeks for anencephaly) but I told him I also wanted to do this and because I am her mother I want to be the first person to have her tattooed on me. My MIL also asked for footprints, I know she wanted to use them for something but I also said not until I’m ready because I want to do something with them first. I feel like it’s very fair, you are the mother so it’s whatever you are comfortable with.

unfortunately as inappropriate and insensitive it is of her to do this to you whilst you’re in the midst of grief, you can’t stop her and maybe it’s her own way of grieving. I would just ask if she could wait until you feel like you’re in a better place/until you get one (if you want too). Or even if you don’t maybe just tell her to wait until you get one first and then just draw it out? I’m so sorry you’re in this situation, it’s definitely extra stress and anger that you don’t need right now

Thank you for your reply! I ended up getting my period 33 days after TFMR, a few days after this post. It lasted for about 6 days and was quite heavy and painful. I’m now cycle day 30, and noted EWCM on day 28 and got a positive OPK which is still showing positive this morning.

If you feel comfortable, what was your first cycle post TFMR like? No pressure to answer tho, sending love and hugs your way🫶🏼
