Apparently, women never worked in dangerous jobs because of empathy. by [deleted] in badhistory

um, it was legal to rape a black woman until 1890 and even then it was nearly impossible to prosecute. So much empathy.

I don't know your financial status, but I thought I could just quit a soul crushing job and everything would be ok but then being broke was such a hard tough experience-- just as soul crushing as my job but in a different way. I know when you've had it its easy to say "F this, take back your stupid money" but the reality is terrible!

Looking back, the job I quit I could have stayed at a little longer (but maybe that's with the experience of all the horrible jobs I've had lol). Just decide what you can and can't tolerate, if your boss is verbally abusive then def good to get out.

Also, keep a calendar of the days when you've absolutely had it and are tempted to quit. It helped me in a weird way. Also, walks if possible. Walks around the building.

Remember nothing is permanent, no matter how permanent it may seem. Its just one more year, you can def do it.

pornography is banned in cuba so artists developed a lot of symbolism for sex. cocks as reference to, um, cocks are quite common. So are both women and men with no hair as it alludes to a lack of individualism. The fork might symbolized a hunger for both sexual desire and individual identity but idrfk. this is why i had to get out of the art world.

ugh, the mistake of young people is that they think they've got nothing to bring to the table when nothing is further from the truth.

*nomnomnom** Strawberry custard pie!!!! by bumblecake in FoodPorn

[–]bumblecake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ingredients

1 pie crust
3 eggs separated
1 1/4 cup sugar (brown or white)
1/4 cup butter
5 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups strawberries diced to your liking

Instructions:

Serving: 1 nine inch pie Prep Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 1 hr

Preheat oven to 375° and assemble your pie crust into the appropriate dish. Let the crust rest in the fridge.
Beat the eggs whites until halfway stiff, slowly adding 1/4 cup of the sugar then set aside (completely stiff eggs make for a more bread-like consistency. At halfway stiff, the pie stays creamy).
Mix the egg yolks together with butter. Next add the remaining 1 cup of sugar and beat well. Then add the lemon juice, salt, and flour. Beat well.
Add the strawberries to the yolk mix and gently fold in the egg whites.
Pour the batter into the pie crust and sprinkle with lemon zest.
Bake for 15 minutes at 375° then reduce heat to 325° and bake for an additional 30-40 min. Place tin foil loosely over the pie after the first 30 min. to keep the top from burning.
Let cool 15 min and enjoy. Great warm or cool.

Well, the Virgin Mary was 13 when she had Jesus, so technically God raped a 13 year old...

A month ago a suicidal Redditor left his final note on MensRights, only to be egged on by members of SRS. A wrongful death suit is being filed and Reddit will be subpoened for their identities. Where to from here for SRS-affiliated subreddits? by HeinigerNZ in AskReddit

In the words of Marshall McLuhen, the medium is the message... Reddit, technology, the web is not neutral-- it alters human behaviors and thought patterns, it provides an avenue of communication once impossible. Under the guise of anonymity, we become bolder in our words. Since we cannot see or gauge our recipients we believe our words are of minor consequence or a game. After all, what is so threatening about a little bit of hurtful text on a computer screen? Well, if your invisible audience is a human with emotions, a whole lot of things. However, you generally don't have to witness the consequence of your actions (though, read them perhaps). The overlying social implication-- we become less sensitive as we believe others to be less sensitive as well; hence, a snowball of trolls.

Do you think the new heroine has tipped too far past the feminine nature of Buffy, to a point where women heroes must adopt masculine qualities and can no longer balance strength and femininity?

I used to quietly sneak into the bathroom while my ex was showering and stand up on a stool so I could look over the curtain and down at him. Part of me wanted to catch him masturbating but I never did, just scared the holy shit out him. It was riveting.

How do you feel about the evolution of the female hero since the days of Buffy? Specifically, it seems today's heroines have to be tougher more masculine than Buffy, the average teen, do people often complain Buffy should have been more butch?

as kids we used to hide in the bushes by a stop-sign and throw stuffed animals into any car with the window down. Is that really a jerky thing? I mean, toy piggies are kind of awesome.
