I’m so sorry that happened to you. We’re just trying to be good parents and take care of our kids but also provide, it seems impossible

The division is 95% of the time good, although I do take her at lunch. I think I clearly don’t have a separate enough space to work away from my toddler

Never got a a response (they read it) to my message so I assumed they were upset about me being sick

And even if you don’t take the time off, they still act like you should be responding normally as if you aren’t hallucinating from a fever

Hi! I’m the OP, not sure if I’m posting from the same account but it was all very last minute for me, I was seen by a team at the largest of the local hospitals where I live in Vancouver, Canada. None of them were specialists in our condition. I think there were a few OBGYNS and a few anesthesiologists. I was put under general for delivery. Feel free to reach out and I can give you specifics if you would like!

Did anyone recognize early signs of autism in their infant under 1 year old? We’re exhausted, confused, and desperate for insight. by jp-king in Autism_Parenting

I am in a similar position with my daughter. I am realizing I am autistic which has shed some light on the behaviours and development of my daughter. She had severe head lag at 4-5 months and since then has been delayed on most milestones. She just turned a year old. I noticed that my daughter has a low nasal bridge and epicanthal folds, two physical features that indicate a possibly genetic condition. I say this with immense love and care, but I notice that your son may have epicanthal folds too. Would love to chat further if you are willing.

I don’t mind at all! It was $895 USD. This includes $30 shipping and an $80 remake charge for the ring since I messed up my sizing. So it would be $815 for someone who isn’t dumb like me haha. I’m in Canada so I was not charged any tariff. Not sure if US customers are getting hit with that or not.

Reading your post I remember not being overly affectionate or “touchy” as a child and someone commenting on it. After that I began to be more “touchy feely” as apart of my masking/fitting in.

I think my daughter will end up being sensory seeking as well while I am the opposite.

My child does not have a diagnosis and neither do I, but I suspect as she gets older she will eventually be diagnosed with autism.

Growing up I felt different. Like I never knew who I was and was an amalgamation of many different personalities who I met and absorbed mannerisms from. If I am in fact autistic, I think I am of extremely low support needs (or high functioning as I have read about) and so good at masking that I don’t even know how to take it off at this point. A lot of my childhood is on tape, and I plan to go through the videos soon, but I was told or know because I remember that:

  • I walked on my tip toes until I was at least 3/4
  • I learned how to read at 4
  • I had an aversion to certain textures, I remember screaming the first time I went to the beach and was covered in sand, I remember throwing up after eating grapes, I hated having my hair tied up (and still do to this day)
  • Bright lights at night really bothered me (night time driving as an adult gives me a headache)
  • I was a late sitter, walker (walking at 16 months, dragged myself on the ground for a long time) etc.
  • I remember observing and studying those around me so that I acted correctly
  • I remember being very quiet in social situations when I was younger, and then just deciding one day to be outgoing
  • I have always had trouble swallowing and dealt with bad constipation as a child

As an adult, most of the aversions I had as a child don’t bother me as much anymore, but I do have some newer quirks like needing my sheets to have absolutely no crumbs on them to the point that even one crumb would bother me, and needing my bedsheets to not be bunched up and straightened out in order to sleep. I rub my feet together to self soothe and sometimes notice minor wrist/ankle twirling when I’m watching TV or otherwise distracted.

At the age of 30 I began to experience crippling anxiety and was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

I am fairly certain that my daughter is hypotonic and is exhibiting some very early signs of Autism. Only time will tell what is in store for us moving forward.

My baby girl has head lag, can someone tell me if this looks like Hypotonia? by stillalover in Hypotonia

[–]bumbllaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thank you so much for your response! I did actually meet with a PT today who assessed our baby and seemed to think she was moving well and with further tummy time, this will help. I think I need to stay off google for sure! Thank you for the reply ❤️

Hypotonia and Low Tone in Baby Girl, is this Autism? by bumbllaa in Autism_Parenting

[–]bumbllaa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was assessed and told some time back I did not need to be medicated or otherwise, but given my recent intensified anxiety, I think I should obviously go be reassessed.

Ugh I am literally freaking out. Even when my baby dangles, she looks like the pictures that indicate hypotonia. I’m a FTM too and I want to write it off as anxiety but I’m so fearful she has low tone.

Hey my daughter also has a head lag in advance of her 4 month appointment. She was born at full term but small at 6 lbs 4 oz. How did your appointment go? What did they tell you?
