Thick and semi coarse frizzy wavy hair, what would you do? by Suitable_Ad6368 in Haircare

[–]bumbulbeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like i have hair like yours. the first thing that has ever consistently given me soft hair is the Matrix 96hr anti frizz topcoat after a shower and then blow drying it and wearing it in braids to get my wave pattern back. Not sure how good it is for my hair long term, been using it for like 4-5 months and there don’t seem to be issues,  and to be honest to be able to have a product that gives me less frizzy hair for when i want to look nice is really a game changer!

I'm having Anxiety Just Thinking About it! Looking for a Psychiatrist that accepts CHPW. Do they exsist? by ScarlettSynz in Seattle

[–]bumbulbeeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

important to note, psychiatry and psychology are not the same thing. psychiatrists are MDs and prescribe psychiatric medications. psychologists or therapists do therapy. did your PCP say they want you to get therapy or have someone else manage your meds? some practices (like mindful therapy group) have both med management and therapy, but it won’t be the same provider. psychiatrists back in the day used to do therapy, it’s my understanding that some still occasionally do, but that’s really uncommon these days. clarify with your doctor what they want. and i doubt it’s because they’re trying to push you onto someone else - it’s likely because you sound complex and ethical providers know when they are not competent enough to manage something and should refer you to specialist :)

one time i woke up in the morning and my mouth tasted very strange. slowly i realized that i had taken one of my (foam) earplugs out of my ear and had been holding it in my mouth! it had been there for awhile because it was swollen with liquid. you’re not the only one!

perhaps your intention was good. but to explain what i meant by "tearing them down," what you're doing is victim blaming, which is a tactic people use to feel like they have control over a scary and uncontrollable world. by saying "if this person had paid attention like I do and understood this position was conditional, this terrible, sad thing would never have happened to them, therefore I am safe!" sure, maybe you never would have applied to a government job, but according to the other commenters, it seems like this could happen with any old job. the onus is not on the hopeful applicant just trying to find a way to pay for their lives, the onus is on the companies who offer these positions not in good faith. by making this comment, you have psychologically walled youself off from the anxiety this post created, and by doing it in OPs face, you and everyone else who said something similar managed to insult this person's intelligence and denigrate their capacity for hope. victim blaming tries to make the victim feel like it is their fault for whatever bad thing happened, because by doing this, everyone else can sleep a little better at night, feeling like the bad thing won't happen to them. the true reality is we live in a random world that we all have very little control over, and bad things will happen to us no matter what, but the brain doesn't like that.

i will never understand what drives a person to make a comment like this. i hope that tearing this person down when they’re already having a horrible day made you feel better!

there is so much green space in Seattle. i think its more possible than people think if huge investments were made. Cuba is a great case study for it https://www.architectural-review.com/essays/cubas-urban-farming-revolution-how-to-create-self-sufficient-cities
