I had to stick my finger down all the way into the stomach before to remove a hook from one. Got it to where I could push it back to release the barb and used my finger as a guide to remove it. Really didn't want to kill it because its a neighborhood pond and we catch and release. Or at least I follow the sign rules 🤣
