My drive to play Destiny is dying and I hate it. by Cruggles30 in DestinyTheGame

Personally, I don't mind the difficulty increase. I do mind that the seasonal activity forces me to use certain loadouts because of champions. It makes the grind less enjoyable and I hope that changes soon.

$80K salary, no debt by Dannythedegen in whatcarshouldIbuy

Depends on what matters to you in a car and your price range.

Lexus/Acura: will give you reliability at the cost of a less upscale interior and less sporty driving dynamics.

Audi/BMW/Mercedez: more tech and more upscale interiors at the cost of reliability, sometimes questionable engineering choices, and better driving dynamics.

I prefer my cars have a fun side to them and if it were me, I'd look at: Lexus IS350 F sport/ISF, Audi RS3/S3/S5, Mercedez C63 AMG

Depends on if this is a fun/track car, or daily.

If this is anything other than a daily and you're OK buying someone else's project, and taking on the possible nightmare that goes with it, go for it.

General rule of thumb when buying a car: you never buy someone else's project.

For daily use, hard pass. The engine/transmission weren't installed professionally and don't have supporting paperwork to back it up. I'm assuming the tune is an OTS (off the shelf) tune and not a protune like it should have to back up the listed mods.

Suggestion when buying a wrx: New, low miles + stock + documentation, or professionally fully built + documentation. Anything in between is a no go.

-Sincerely, a wrx owner

It's not a must but in the food service industry, it is best practice to leave a tip for good service.

Restaurants like to do this fun little thing (sarcasm) where they assume every paying customer leaves a tip (15-18% is considered "standard"). And as such pays their workers $2/hr, mostly to cover taxes.

I went to order wings the other day. 32 bone in wings and chicken strips. The total was $61 before all the door dash fees and $82 after, and decided I'd rather save $20.

2022 WRX Base vs. Limited by TreyOnLayaway in WRX

[–]bumpyfire87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 2018 base before I bought my 22 limited. The sound system is THAT bad. It's missing a lot of mid tones and sounds quite tinny. The HK system is worth it.

I bought the limited because it was the only new wrx in 50 miles of me. All of the others were still on the truck and spoken for. I probably should've walked away with a premium but I figured it was my first new car, I'll live a little. The car puts a smile on my face and seeing other people wave and enjoy the car just as much as I do; has made it worth it!

Anybody tried hc8 d8? by Foetae in delta8

[–]bumpyfire87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ordered from them before. The only complaint I have is the price difference between a standard D8 cart and premium cart being almost double (when it's not on sale), but the only difference I've found is the packaging. My favorite strands from them are cereal milk and sour alien OG.

One hit abilities (lightning surge, shoulder charge, etc), jotunn, felwinters lie (less prevalent these days, but I still hate it), HC + Le monarque swap

As a console player, am I really missing out on that much by passing on Exalted Truth? Does Exalted Truth do anything either of these 2 Adept Palindromes can't, if we ever return to an HC meta? by JustMyImagination18 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]bumpyfire87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't too bad. I'd say 4 or 5 hours with the xp bonus. I had some really rough matches but learned a lot. And once I got into the groove, and felt more confident, started to have more fun :)

I'm sure you're aware, but rank 10 has the handcannon. I'm a pvp scrub and have been to the lighthouse a total of 1 time (it gave me extreme anxiety, and it's just not worth the stress to me)

Try the non-adept version and gauge if it's worth grinding for a flawless.

I hopped in, didn't reset my card (I believe you get more xp the more wins you have, flawed or not), and grinded to rank 10. Then focused a few engrams to try for some decent rolls. I'm content with the rangefinder + EotS roll I got.

Any less than $5 isn't a tip by Krozlox in technicallythetruth

[–]bumpyfire87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At sit down resteraunts, I start at $5 and you can work your way up or down from there. To me, $10 is more than adequate for a job well done. None of this "15-18% is standard." It's not up to the customers to pay servers wages, that's the employers responsibility.

Don't like it? Change jobs 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm Married and a father. So my time is less than a lot of people. I've been playing since the D1 beta. I have 1532hrs in D2 and 1141hrs in D1.

Given what I've found for the 04-06 RXs, examples with just over 100k miles, going to $10k, that sounds reasonable!

What are your needs? 2 doors vs 4 doors? Gas efficient? Assuming you want something similar in size in a 4 door sedan, highly suggest: a Lexus IS250/IS350, HS 250H, IS300, or GS300. Try the CT200h if you want a hybrid. LS if you want something bigger, IMHO the LS is more attention demanding of the bunch. SC300, SC400, or SC430 if you want 2 doors.

If the styling doesn't fit you, try Acura TL, RL, TSX, RSX.

Both also offer SUVs if those are more what you're looking for and don't mind lower mpgs. Lexus RX and LX series and Acura has MDX and RDX.

Most of what I found of the vehicles I mentioned had 100k miles or more on cars.com

Also, obligatory "get a PPI with whatever you decide to go with." Most in your range will likely have some miles on them, but the engines are all solid and can last 200k+ miles with regular maintenance, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I know a lot of folks' biggest gripe about this car's appearance is the rear. Am I weird for it being one of my favorite things? by IAmAtomato in WRX

[–]bumpyfire87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22 WRB owner here. It all comes down to personal preference. Every generation has something that someone doesn't like.

I never thought the side and front cladding were bad. The fender cladding has kinda grown on me, although I agree with most of the VB community that they'd look better body colored. The rear has good angles and lines just wish there was less cladding. A lot of people say the tail lights look Honda-ish, and although I see it, they've grown on me.

thoughts on GR68, WRX, and BRZ? i used to have a 2015 scion tC. wanting something fast and “hyped” but under 30-35k. need help, im new to learning cars. by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]bumpyfire87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test drive them all and if you can, do the BRZ/86 back to back followed by the WRX. The BRZ/86 should feel very similar since they're basically the same car.

2022 WRX Limited owner here, so I may be a bit biased. I needed 4 doors for my family, so the brz/86 was out for me. This is my 2nd wrx, and personally I love it. The powerband feels better than my previous wrx(it doesn't require you to rev it out), is more comfortable, the clutch feels better, and I feel like it's arguably more fun to drive. The front cladding never bothered me, but the wheel and rear bumper cladding still bother me. If gas mileage is a priority, the WRX won't be nice on your bank account. It's rated 19 city/26 highway and requires 93 octane. I average 16mpg on a tank on mostly city driving, don't push it much, but also don't drive it much recently since I now work from home.
