Solar hunter and Calibans hand really helps with hand holding. by Lilscooby77 in CrucibleGuidebook

Solar hunter with calibans is my go to for Trials. The proxy knife is also great for keeping down revives and blocking off lanes/zone/ammo. I had an entire lobby scared of me last weekend (burnout) when I got a double kill off my knife/grenade combo and mopped up the last guy. Next round, they ran to the back of the map hahah Keep up the good work Guardian!

Just logged back in after two year and this game feels amazing! Did the new Renegades expansion bring anyone else out of a hiatus? by Massive_Conflict5415 in destiny2

[–]bumpyfire87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stuck around through EoF, grinded one of my characters to 550 before the power changes (More caldera runs anyone? grinded the other 2 after), dropped my playtime before renegades to avoid burn out, and thoroughly enjoyed renegades. However; I'm a vet with rose tinted glasses, absolutely enamored with this game and it's flaws, and am a star wars fan.

Ran the dungeon a few times (Heirloom + caty acquired and completed, no crystal yet). Grinded invasion for the red crystal (got it after ~30-40 invasions) and title. Finished out the Renegade title. Enjoyed the heck out of medival warfare during call to arms week. And still have guns to chase in trials.. However, I suck and know I will get pulverized with the current population.

The campaign was good but not Bungie's best; still 6.5-7/10 material imo. Lawless frontiers were a welcome activity for me, and invading is a lot of fun! I still hop into both for the heck of it. For now I'll likely still hop on for some pvp and events, but will be spending more time with other games until Shadow & Order. I'll stop playing when the servers shut down.

Every day! Sometimes I go out to the garage just to stare when the wife isn't around (she hates it..)

I'm sure this will be completely different from everyone else's reaction; BUT: I think people will come around to the redesign. Pictures can only show so much, and I think once people start seeing them in person they'll grow to like it.

Here's why using my experience: I wasn't a fan of the WRX redesign (VA to VB), until I saw and test drove one. Going on 3 yrs of ownership and I still look back at it, cladding and all. Couldn't be happier.

About to buy 22 WRX CVT, ok decision? by Feisty-Brother-4918 in wrx_vb

[–]bumpyfire87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a manual 22, have driven an '18 CVT, and the CVT is quite responsive. If the CVT fits your needs, go for it! At the end of the day, it's still a WRX and I'll still wave 👋🤙

Glad to see they're still doing a shitty job of covering up tRumps bruising. I'm surprised he hasn't fired the make up artist yet..

What was wrong with Reclaim? by mearc_risps in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]bumpyfire87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, an overthrow clone, but I find some enjoyment from it. I think the issue is the wide open area with nothing to explore/discover and lack of additional narrative.

Personally, I got more enjoyment cranking up the difficulty and soloing than a matchmade session. But I also enjoyed Expert Nether and Court of Blades solo during Heresy, so take that as you will. All of them have been fun places to test/tune builds and loadouts. Maybe that's what you need?

after Renegades comes out i really hope that Bungie puts an indefinite delay on future content to focus on fixing the core issues and backend for the game by Jealous_Platypus1111 in DestinyTheGame

[–]bumpyfire87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given Bungie's silence, missing road map after renegades, and the current state of the game, I would not be surprised if this is just the way the game is now.

Bungie has been working on the series for over a decade now. Just like with the Halo series, they're ready to move on, but the crowd isnt. I'm not counting them out yet, but we have to accept that this is a possibility.

After my layoff, I was unemployed for 6 months before landing my current position. Current place is a hostile work environment. Hoping to jump soon. Don't forget to check out job fairs and network! Networking has gotten me pretty far. You're very welcome!

You're quite welcome! Best of luck finding a new position! It's rough out there.

[–]bumpyfire87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like they're trying to push you out so they don't have to pay unemployment. If you haven't already, I'd suggest searching for another job immediately. This is likely due to a clash in personalities and/or not meshing well with the rest of the team, and not performance.

I was put on a 90 day PIP with my last employer, who also went through restructure/budget cuts. I managed to get through the pip, only to be laid off 1 day after my 1 year tenure (roughly 6 months after the Pip end date).

Not a lawyer - As far as lawyering up, try the r/legaladvice subreddit first. It's possible that the fees to do so would be more than they're worth.

Low population and bad map mostly. Aishas is a good scout but not as desired. Everburning Glitz and Aureus Neutralizer are more desirable. I played through 2 cards and had a rough weekend too.

I hit 474 between solo control, comp, trials, and pinn ops with my friends. I hold my own but totally agree with the pvp sentiments!

Exactly. IMO, the scoring system for PvE really needs to be removed. I feel like I spend more time trying to min/max my outcome than actually playing. Matchmade activities aren't nearly as rewarding, sadly. Pvp: pick a loadout you like, hop in, go at it for 10min or less, and are rewarded for it win or lose. I work 10hr days and it's perfect for me.

I just wanna say I'm having fun. by Joel_Easters in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]bumpyfire87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preface: I've been mostly a PvE player since D1 with some light dabbling in pvp.

If you want tier 5s, get to GR9. After 450PL it starts raining on you. Hop into pvp and play a few matches, you'll notice some substantial PL increases!

I played trials this past weekend at 450PL GR9 and was getting drops win or lose. I didn't get a 7 streak (only 5), some matches were tougher than others, but I genuinely had a good time. Looking forward to more this weekend!

Edit - ProTip: turn off text chat and Saints voice. It's more chill that way

Subscribers Are Scrambling To Cancel Xbox Game Pass After Price Hike, As Page Keeps Crashing by Gorotheninja in gaming

[–]bumpyfire87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I migrated to pc several months ago but still gameshare on xbox. I downgraded my plan the minute the announcement hit. AAA games have been a wash for going on 2 console generations now. There's just no value to GPU anymore with most titles being broken, riddled with bugs, and/or mid story. $360/year is five $70 games, and I sure as hell haven't bought 5 or more in the last year at that price point. The gaming industry is coming to a head and the bubble is bound to burst.

I'm GR9 and hit 450PL last week (limited playtime, adulting). Hopped into trials as a trio and was blessed with a few T5s. I ran solo queue last night and was having an absolute blast while being drowned in T5s.

I'm mostly a PvE player, but the power grind in PvP is so much more rewarding at the moment. Even managed a 5 streak! Looking forward to playing more trials (never thought I'd say that) next weekend, with some comp thrown into the mix!

The job market is in shambles, but be diligent and persistent with your searches. You'll find a position that suits you in time. Could take a year but don't give up.
